I've found 2 legendary drops in Inferno. Both were god awful. In fact, one is so horrible that it has over 46 pages of the same legendary on AH...nobody will buy.
Thank god Blizz is buffing legendary drops in the next patch but I don't think that includes the ones we already own, sadly. Doesn't make sense a legendary isn't very legendary. Considering they all have unique looks and very few are actually used...yea. All legendary drops should be better than 99% rares...
Upon noticing game kinda seems to assume I'm somehow familar with the characters of Diablo III before starting the game, I actually ended up watching some D2 cutscenes with erm.."both eyes open" for first time ever. Goddamn. Some highly impressive stuff. I'm actually tempted to say D2 opening cutscene is most impressive cinematic I've seen in a video game. Ofc I speak of the sum of all parts here (storytelling, overall design of scenes, etc) , rather than way 12 year old pixels please an eye. "East. Always... into the East" Hrrrrrrr I'm turning into a fanboy:l Whole opening has such a strong Dark Tower vibe truly! I wish D3 was D3 with D2's story:l
Above link is a very well assembled 55 mins long pile of Diablo lore leading up to D3...very helpful for any other potential Diablo newbies.
Considering how dark story it makes, D3's graphics are starting to ****** me off. Disney meets WoW just doesn't do justice to story and world this dark.
....Luckily person behind this rather awesome mod called DarkD3 seems to agree with me! Mod isn't much of a mod at all, no D3's files get modded. It simply asks your video card to treat certain filters and whatnots in different fashion than what Stock D3 wants. Such a small mod offering such a massive difference in atmopshere.
Original Diablo weee candyland anime color lsd adventure tihi bloom and blur for everyone hihi kawai^- ^ :3
Diablo after it has been fixed using DarkD3 Stark, bleak, sharp, serious business :l
Compare full sized pics and get floored by how much sharper the modded version is.
Since Bliz has seen fit to join Ubisoft in violating paying customers' behinds in ways that would make an adult movie illegal in most parts of the western world, any and all mods are suddenly bit of a " grey area" EULA-wise. However, people, including a Bliz Dev who commented the mod on twitter, seem to *think* you won't get banned from using this.
It is well beyond absurd and depressing we live in times where adjusting FIXING graphics of a single player/small scale co-op game you have legally bought is something that might actually GET YOU BANNED from the said game. Ultimately I blame the utter lack of kahunas and authority of gaming media. Not many enough call BS loudly enough. Vid games need watch dog with sharper teeth. Pref Cerberos. (the actual dog, not the Me thing)
Luckily the mod comes with multiple settings so people who are tired/and or annoyed when not able to see all colors of rainbow at once get to enjoy it's benefits too. Ie you can play it with vanilla colors but that god awful blur turned off. This alone would sell it for me a thousand times over.
Its getting hard for melee characters after act1, blue trios or elites bring a lot of pain. A lot of monster specialties are deadly for melee, plague, molten, prison, frozen etc. Ranged having a lot easier time (especially if someone tanks ) but new reflective mobs are giving us hard times.
I simply get my 4 skill on CD for vision quest adn then spam Zombie bears like mad. You can use Dire bats(or Swarm) instead of bears too. Soloed Act 2 with that build now half way Act 3. Killed Magda in 20 sec with this build
What gear do you have? With all skills scaling off weapon damage that is actually a lot more interesting than just which skills you use.
Also, if you dont mind me asking, how long did it take you to get this far?
It took 50 hours to get inferno and im farmin here 10-15 hours for now.
An earlier picture of my Shangobumba. Was trying my heavy DoT build (named Harry Dotter ) I'll update this when i return to home my weapon and mojo are different now.
Melee needs far better equipment comparing to ranged.
My HP and resistances were very low at that pic. I got 2-3 shotted from chain+teleport guys or prison+mortar.
Edit: BTW i gain 650 int from my 5x Soul Spyhon. Really helps my damage

True I noticed that already :-)
It's pretty strange though. Azmodan was fairly easy even on Hell but Rakhanokh is almost impossible.... One should think that Azmodan should be more challenging.
End of act bosses are really easier then most of mini bosses and packs. Especially slow caster types like Azmodan or Magda. Rakhanokh is really problem for melee and he one shots you if he connects his charge.

I am not playing this game (loot games are generally not my type)
but I can see what they did here with the skill progression system from watching the videos.
Though I kinda feel that those skills are just individual skills, some have slight synergy between them but I'm kinda ... iffy on that one.
I'd much prefer a system where one set of skills denote a particular build and etc.

D3 just gives you that total freedom to choose whichever skill you want - in theory you could even use 4 basic attacks instead of all categories, if you wanted.
Personally, I much prefer that over being railroaded into one built and if I f*cked it up - too bad, new character.
It is also helpful because some skills are very strong against certain enemies but weaker against others, so you can adapt to what lies ahead, and adapt to what is needed.
An example: Against lots of weaker enemies, I will use my AoE - attacks, but against the single boss I will switch to the stronger singletarget ones.
Playing alone I will balance defensive and offensive skills, but with a team of ranged chars I will focus defense to take a tanky role, etc...

Well, don't get me wrong; I think that is a step in the right direction.
However it is just not something that I had hoped for. In this limited slot model, I would hope building a 'build', or a set of skills would be like building a moveset/team in competitive pokemon, or select a champion in LoL. but from the look of it it doesn't really give me that sort of feeling.
Have you guys seen the sales number for Diablo 3 ? Wow lol I would never thought that PC exclusive game could sell that many copies nowadays.
3,5mills in the first 24 hours and 6,3 mills in the first week. Probably way over 7 mills now. No clue if it has been posted already http://www.ingame.ms...h-issues-790219
Inferno is really kicking my monk's ass, or at least I have horrible luck with elite pack affixes. Almost always shielded or invulnerable minions with molten and/or arcane. Really annoying.

Not the experience I've had. Retried at least 40-50 times beat the Butcher on Nightmare and Belial just kept mopping the floor with me. Whereas Magda was pretty easy likewise with Leoric and Zoltun Kulle.

You need to practice movement then.
The thing is, that except Diablo himself most bosses can be completely countered by evading their attacks. Especially Belial - yes he can 1-shot you easily, but ALL his damage is evadable.

If you can sift through the whining, Bioware forums has some really good inferno gearing tips for monks. I also found this http://www.xfire.com/video/579b87/
