I'm religious, but I'm of the opinion that it, along with political beliefs, should be handled like a penis.

It's perfectly fine to talk about it, sometimes. 

It's perfectly fine to share it with someone, if they want it.

But you shouldn't go shoving down people's throats, and waving it around for all to see.

Sorry, I should have been clearer: I don't mind religion, I support people that want to uphold their faith. Infact it's good that people have something to believe in because I've seen people excel at what they do because of it.

I have the same motif as you when it comes to discussing religion. I discuss many aspects of Islam with my muslim friend from university and I've learned more about his religion than at any other time. I'm fascinated by mythology and have a strong proclivity to the Norse and Greek pantheons.

The "group" I mentioned are the likes of Jehovas Witnesses who come knocking on your door trying to convert you. It annoys me.

Well, I can understand that. Sitting on the other side of the fence, I can't count the amount of times I've been questioned about my beliefs nonstop after providing reasoning for why I believe such. 

Just try to remain considerate and respectful of the beliefs of others.
