Purity of our culture is indeed a matter of great concern as any outside contact, especially by those races that are older than ours. Your statement about synthetics is confusing, though. I think, you mentioned AI, machines with non existent "soul"? If so, I do agree, they must be eliminated, but technology as a whole, advanced technology is another way for our race to secure it's rightful place.

I dislike synthetics, not this one in particular, and the fact that I'm forced to have one on my ship is absurd. After that one AI tried to blow me up on the Citadel, I would kill any synthetic on sight, VI or otherwise.

I wish you could have taken a harder anti-EDI stance in the game as a choice, just to see what happened. Back in ME1, you had the option of playing Shepard as a pro-human xenophobe. You similarly had a choice on how to react to the rogue AI credit-thief on the Presidium, though ultimately you had to destroy it. I really liked EDI's Pinocchio story, but I'd still like to have had a choice whether to go along with her sinister plans of synthetic dominance.
