OP, EDI is not so much an abomination as she is pointless as a robot. I never used her as a squadmate and I didn't feel like I lost anything for it. They could've just updated her "ball" hologram to a fembot hologram and be done with it.

I don't get the whole love story with Joker. She doesn't need a romance. Her self-awareness throughout ME3 is actually properly done. But she's a highly advanced program on a ship; she doesn't need a body. The Normandy is her body.

Sorry, but those two things are pretty much the same once you heighten up the ante.

When Europe started to colonize the Americas, the indigenous people there were thought to be subhuman by our european standards and were treated like animals. Though I agree, that we must be wary of aliens that are contacting us, we do not necessarily need to dominate them. Peaceful coexistence is possible.

If a being exists, that is not human and has the same intelligence as one and is not entirely aggressive towards us we should not step into the same mistakes as our ancestors and exact our superiority complex on it. In our ancestors cause it was skin color, in the Mass Effect Universe's case it's Species.
