If Bioware offered a pack that cost 500,000 credits which gave you only 1 thing that can be whatever you want, would you take it?

So for those who say you should have to pay a million creds, would you REALLY forego buying 10 PSPs for just 1 item? That's at least 20 rares you're giving up for 1 item.

It takes me about 10 PSP's to get a rare I even want.  It takes about 20 PSP's for me to get an n7.  And probably 60PSP's to get an n7 I actually want.

I'd pay 500k credits to pick a gold.  Easily.  I'd probably pay 1M credits to pick a gold.  I'd pay upwards of 2M credits to pick an n7.

It sounds to me like you've been playing multiplayer a lot longer than I have so I'll defer to your judgment. Or maybe I've just been getting a little lucky with drops.

There are statistical outliers as with everything.  There are going to be a few people that get all the guns they want very quickly.  And thus, from their experience, 500k would seem way too much.

But the AVERAGE person will get to the point in the game when they stop getting things they want, because the number of things they want has gone down (they unlocked a lot) but the chances of getting those things has mostly remained constant.  Once you get to that point (unless you remain incredibly lucky), you'll know what we're talking about.

But you can understand just by doing the math.

There's a 10% chance of getting an n7 in a PSP (rough estimate).  There are 8 n7's.  Therefore, each n7 has a 1.25% chance of dropping for every 99k credits you spend.  To even have a 50/50 shot at getting what you're suggesting we spend 500k for, you'd have to spend 55*99k cr or about 5.5M credits.

Topic. So if Bioware released a pack which was literally just ONE item for 500,000 credits, but that 1 item could be whatever you wanted, would you take it?

I would. I want that freakin' Geth Engineer and my freakin' Black Widow already. Enough with the character cards.

At this point...no. It's just a time issue more than anything. You will eventually get it them all if you keep playing.

I don't think you quite comprehend N7 rarity.

Looking at your manifest, you either have extreme luck or play way too much. Either way, it's not like that for everybody.

Bit of both maybe?

So what if it isn't the same for everyone? The game can be played with any of the characters and any of the weapons on any of the levels. That's a fact. They might not be the optimal choices but they are all capable of completing the task at hand. Some of you feel the need to get it done faster because [insert special reason here]. Bleh. It's not a race.

Personally I'd like to see some stats on from Bioware on time vs. drops. My time may be compressed into a smaller window than some of you, but in the end I would bet that the total drops vs. time is nearly identical or close overall for everyone. That would be more telling of the big picture than the numerous 'I dun haz' threads that pop up continuously on the forum. IE: you need to play to get the specials which is what Bioware wants you to do.

This has nothing to do with viability. You're not even worth talking to. Go play your game another 10 hours a day.

That's the best you can come up with? Continue your Q_Q over an unjust system that is clearly rigged against you. Obviously you are special and must be catered to by Bioware.

I'll do it for him.

Your entire post was a red herring.  It had nothing to do with the topic.  The topic is whether a pack where you can pick the card you get is worth 500k.

Mathetmatically it is (see my previous post).  Assuming what you want is an n7, it's worth way more than 500k.  The fact that there are other weapons in the game and the idea only n00bs need specific weapons to win or have fun that you're trying to perpetuate is irrelevant.  The value you're getting out of a pack where you pick the card is exactly the fact you get a card you personally picked.  To mimic that value in the random store system, you'd have to spend far more than 500k.

If you personally would rather get random weapons, and feel picking a specific weapon has no value in and of itself, then that's wonderful.  I'm glad the store is working out for someone.  But again, that has absolutely nothing to do with the point you're trying to make.

The question was: "If Bioware offered a pack that cost 500k credits, which gave you only 1 thing that can be whatever you want, would you take it?"

Your answer is: "No.  I like random weapons."

/argument.

I've spent 2 million on PSPs before without getting any weapon upgrades. So yes this would be a huge improvement.

Hells to-the-**** yea! I would really love this. I'd pay anywhere from 500k-2.5m for this. This coming from someone who has never broken past having more than 350k in the bank.

I would. However, just to be clear, are the improvements for a weapon like 10% across the board? Also, I see no reason for Bioware not charging for something like this.

Everything is better than this random crap. Collecting credits to buy something you really need is so much more rewarding than dumb luck and potential infinite time investment for nothing but junk.

I thought I would but waiting to get that perfect weapon I've learned to use what I have very well.

Until I get that Black Widow, I'll stick with my Geth SMG and my Carnifex or Paladin.

The hard thing to determine would be how much real life monies a pack like this would cost...

I'm pretty sure my average credits spent per ultra rare is above at least 2.5 million so this would save me a lot of grief.

500K in credits? Hell yes. At present, I am averaging about 1 ultra rare weapon every 20 psp's or so - or about 1.8 to 2 million credits. So 500K for a guaranteed ultra-rare? Heck yes! I'd never buy another PSP - I'd pour my credits into recruit packs - best value for what you get in equipment.

Considering it's currently 1-1.5 mil on average to get an N7.... I would absolutely pay 500k for my choice.

for n7's yes I would. People who unlocked everything else would be unlock all the N7's then instead of having to grind for nothing.

Dude - I have the BW I, and sad to say it's not worth the wait...it's considerably heavier than the Widow (wtf ???) making it way less appealing esp. for an infiltrator who likes to snipe from cloak.

Weight doesn't matter for an infiltrator sniping from cloak.  If you take the free power progression at the sixth level of cloak, weight doesn't matter for any infiltrator build.

I got such joy in using that weapon in SP.
