6 squadmates. Same as Mass Effect.

It was perfect amount number for ME1.

ME1 was about getting small team to follow Saren and eliminate him, but it turned to be whole scale war between Sovereign and Council Citadel

That 5 (6) is stupid small amount squadmembers for ME3, its whole galaxy scale war and many of old squaddies could have been in Normandy.

Grunt, Samara and Zaeed basically dont do nothing after their missions, would be nice to get them to squad.
Thane dies, Miranda dies, Jack takes care about her noobs and Kasumi works with Crusible so i understand they cant join Normandy

Not bashing anyone, just making my opinion in same comment as quote comment

They replaced Conrad verner with Garrus, Tali, Liara, Edi, Vega, Javik, and Ashley/kaiden. Screw those guys! Let's throw them all out of the airlock and have Conrad be the only squadmate.

You know what is also a waste?? Tali and Garrus being squadies in all three games, taking up space for new interesting characters.

Well, in a way, but Garrus is awesome, he evolves, progresses as a characer, contributes to the story, etc. He's a positive presence. Tali on the other hand is dull and boring, she was given three chances and yet she's less interesting than characters that were featured in only one game. Sometimes I think her sole presence is to offer a "submissive girl" romance fetish option.

Garrus is an okay character but his whole "vendetta trip" in both ME1 and ME2 (seriously, didn´t I convince him, in ME1, with my paragon shep that hunting and killing someone just for revenge is stupid??) can get a bit boring after awhile.

And as for the Tali (and Garrus) romance, I think the official reason was the two characters were so popular, with the fandom, that it would be unwise not to make them romanceable.

 The weird thing about Tali is just written completely different than she was in the first two games. They took her from being a shy but capable character who liked Shep towards a more insecure character filled with doubt of her self. Liz Sroka "breathed" life into the character but Liz did not write the character. Tali was one of the few squadmates who made you feel that what was happening to her people and her reactions to it. She still had some pretty good dialogue but Liz could only work with what she was given. 

If Tali had a fraction of what she had in ME1 and ME2, then her character would have been one of the most emotionally impacting in the game. Had she been recruitable earlier then she may have been more interesting. Tali became more withdrawn with her feelings than being able to openly show her feelings. But try not to blame the character.

I love grunt, but I think he found his place in ME3, Wrex and Bakara are going to need a lot of help with their quest for a Krogan Renaissance, and Grunt will be one of their major assets. 

Now, ME3 seriously lacks a Krogan ally, somehow I was hoping for that "imperfect" Krogan that helps you during Grunt's recruitment mission to join me. He seemed so sad and yet so honorable and he certainly was a true badass, figthing endless waves of mercs to no end for days. He could fill the role of the warrior-poet character.

this thread is not about tali, but about the ME2squadmates that didnt make it to ME3 squadmate, when i play the game i was wondering who will be apart from james and liara, who will be in my team, and i find insulting how they treated the ME2 squadmates, a least bioware should let choose how you want in your team

Being able to choose would have been a massive undertaking but a well received one. BW can not get upset at people who liked their ME2 squad because let's face it, they were written well and when you compare them to a character like James, they are ions above his character. Although James does have a few moments but they are not enough to subsitute what the ME2 squad brought to the table.

I was never fond of Tali outside of ME1. Her character bored me to tears, but I can't blame BW for including her as a squad mate due to her popularity. It's just a shame so many other characters got so little screen time compared to others.

Tali is the most interesting female squadmate. I wasn't a huge fan of her in ME1, but I thought she was great in ME2 and ME3.

Maybe when Talimancers started insulting practically the entire ME2 cast. Go back to the first pages and read all the hate posts about Jack and Miranda.

That's the simple truth of it.

Define "vast majority" you mean BSN or the real world? because most people playing ME2 romanced Miranda. 

You'd be surprised how many people here think that isn't the case. It's kind of disturbing, actually, as they honestly believe Tali was romanced far more.

Also, this is the first time I have seen Tali instead of Liara in one of these threads. Very surprising.

So, people not agreeing with you equate to trolls, nice and democratic way to see the world... The truth is that I, and many other people in this thread, would prefer seeing other characters being developed more. Personally I want Jack, Samara and Miranda, but Grunt, Zaeed, Kasumi, Samara, Thane and Jacob also deserve some more attention (yep, I said Jacob too, because at least for a non-romancing Shep his decision of having a family in ME3 is really interesting)
