I'm not entirely sure on how it started. I'd have to watch/listen it again, but I think Samara just happened to be on this planet, and I think Nihlus was on a mission and killed a civilian. Samara saw it, and the Code compelled her to chase him down.
Samara saw him kill an unarmed person. They were probably one of the bad guys but to Samara, shooting someone who is unarmed (regardless if they diserve it or not) is punishable by the justicar code.

About the code, what happens when a Justicars sees another justicar killing someone unarmed?

Which is also a pretty high form of hypocrisy, considering that she executed an unarmed mercenary in ME2.

I suppose that they would A) try to figure out the situation because Justicars aren't suppose to do that (black and white code offers no grey areas)
I'm just guessing. Perhaps there is something in the code that covers this particular situation that we just don't know about.

I'm not sure which merc you're talking about. If it's the one who's neck she broke, that merc had a gun pointed at Samara moments before.
Samara didn't see what happened before she came upon Nihlus. What she did see forced her to attack.

Also, if any squadmate from ME3 was to be cut, it should have been the sexbot, Biff Slabmeat, or the one who feels the need to change her personality and face every five minutes.

Yeah, but that merc had been knocked over and disarmed when Samara stepped on her neck and broke it.
Then again, I think the Justicar code is very stupid in general, so it doesn't really matter.

I never let that abomination onto my ship, but the impression I got from others is that she was far from "fully developed".Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...
No, if any character had to be cut. It should have been Diana Allers. They made her a full developed character when they really should have just made her a cameo.
She was an utter waste of resources though, true.

She was. The interviews were way to rare to justify her presence. Especially when that other journalist has an appearance in the game, and you just as easily could have done those interviews on the Citadel with her. Having the possibility to take just one ME2 team member would have made an incredible difference. Cause, I think you're pretty much bound to have at least one survivor.

Yeah, I agree. I don't like Liara but she's been in the series so long that it would've been silly to cut her out. They should've skipped with Vega imo, because EDI voiceacting would've been in the game in one format or another.Cthulhu42 wrote...

She was not shoved onto you.
- In ME1 you have no choice, you're forced to have her.
- In ME2 if you don't have her you miss a critical ship upgrade and another character dies, ergo, you're indirectly forced to have her.
- In ME3 you get her even auto-selected during two missions.
Besides, the main point is that she was already in three games and now it's time for other characters to get some development instead of keep wasting resources on her. (and I'm talkingabout the EC, future DLC, etc).
THIS.
But I agree that it makes sense for her to be a full squaddie - she is insanely popular in her fandom. I just wishshe's been an optional squaddie ( eg. been optional on those auto-selected missions / there was an option to tell her to stay on Rannoch. )
Which, considering Gerrel and Xen, it would be a PRETTY good thing for her people to have her there on Rannoch as a leader, especially if peace was made.
