We're not.

Yes, we are supporting Multiplayer, but not exclusively. As pretty much everyone knows, we are making the Extended Cut DLC to address concerns over the endings of the game and we have more Single Player story based content coming as well.

To be honest - and since I enjoyed ME3 very much, even in it's current state - this makes me very happy to hear. ^^

Yeah. ME3 is already a 10/10 for me already. I can't wait for more.

Some good guys for once.

Of course you say something like this. Veiled insult FTW I guess.

lol "veiled insult"?  Someone is either hypersensitive or paranoid.

Paranoid? Please. I'm just calling it like I see it.

You do not comprehend the magnitude of our presence.

sensitive spot say what

i get wanting to keep ppl playing the game but ppl will still play the campaign (maybe) in a year and doubtful about MP. But ME has been primarily a SP game so hopefully they will still focus mainly on the single player experience but that is my opinion, I mean there is only so far you can go with a horde mode. but i would want them to put more into sp then another mp mode

ME3's MP is just a faster way to bring in more revenue. That's all. It's a profitable "thingy" which you the fan support otherwise it would not exist. On the SP front just have patience. It's a bit more tricky and harder to deliver content for it but it will come.Chris...Looking forward for the EC :) and then we'll talk more about those DLCs which i'm sure are in the makes or already made but put on hold due to the Ending(s) fiasco :) Cpt Obvious has left the building.

back in my day shooters had health bars, puzzles, and actually challenging boss fights

nowaways the franchise carries a negative connotation associated with it.. a genre populated by mindless console braindead idiots and children

Mass effect 3 is not the worst offender, but is heading towards there. "Press Spacebar to do everything" is just aggravating me

I don't mind the multiplayer DLC, but I hope this doesn't mean DLC for the singleplayer will just be the EC, the Omega DLC and another singleplayer package. I want weapons and appearance packs too.*

*If the EC doesn't end up sucking, that is. :P

It's not hard to see why people feel this way.
Everything so far that's come out has been MP and it seems like in the technical support thread you are far... far more likely to get a response about a bug or a problem if it's on the multiplayer than on the single player.
And a large number of the posts in the news and annoucement thread are all about multiplayer.

Now this could all just be because of Bioware's repeated failures to communicate with the fans. In fact I've seen a post by a bioware employee state that they do have DLC in mind.

But, at the same time, it is really hard to believe that they aren't focusing on the cash cow part of the game when the majority of the evidence says their attention is on that...

Next title from ME will be: Call of Effect: Mass Ops ... Realy i must admit I HATE THIS FOCUS on coop, instead of FOCUS on SP DLCs. This game was always SP and Í was hoping it will be left that way but yea EA appears and said Assuming CONTROL ...

I believe bioware Montreal is responsible for the multiplayer, therefore is has no affect on the single player crew at bioware edmonton.

As a money grabbing company, it makes sense to focus on multiplayer...

5,000 people playing (or x number, whatever)
if 1% of those, (50 people) spend 10 bucks in an hour (which is possible)
that's 500 bucks ea gained, in an hour, for practically nothing.

Of course, they are going to focus on multiplayer....
basically no resources, with a lot of profit.

I don't expect any focus on SP, really. One or two DLCs to get it out of the way, but MP events every two weeks.

You guys know that it's way, way quicker and easier to put stuff together for multiplayer than it is to make quality single player content, right? It was two and a half months before Kasumi's DLC mission came out for ME2, and ME2 didn't have their whole DLC release schedule blown to hell by an extended cut ending.

The MP releases are analogues to the appearance packs. If we get a nice EC release in June, followed by another story mission (Omega? Something in batarian space? Ilium? A return to Terra Nova or another interesting locale from the first two games?) or two, I'll be happy.

Is anyone believe that MP will affect SP when Bioware/EA produce ME3 in the beginning?

The MP will affect the SP for sure because there are only that much money and resource will be used to produce a game. Maybe they separated into two teams to develop ME3 but the money come from the same source, EA. I expect that EC DLC is the last SP DLC because it is not worthy to make SP DLC from the view point of EA. Of course, Chris will say that there are more DLC will come. But, I do not believe that because Bioware lie a lot of things about ME3 before the release of ME3.

Fun fact I just noticed. There are more posters in the multiplayer forums than in the general forums or the story and campaign forums.

I judge this based on the frequency of topics and the amount of time they remain on the frontpage between refreshes.

Have you heard yet? Bioware is hard at work on "Mass Effect 4: Hawke's Revenge or How I Stopped Worrying about the Late Shepard and Learned to Love Hawke's feather".

Personally I don't care for MP but others do, so good for them. Others should still be able to enjoy something, even though I'll never touch MP.

My only issue is when it feels like MP is detracting from the SP experience or the quality of the core game.

ME3 did feel rushed and unpolished in some areas and I know "they had a different team" working on it but I still think it did influence the focus and thus quality of the final product.

MP should be a bonus and a lot of the game feels designed around it in ME3.

Thanks for popping in Chris

I'm not too worried. Working on multiplayer requires a completely different kind of people and skill set than story related content.

With multiplayer they can make frequent, relatively small releases of content, whereas the EC, or even a fair sized SP DLC is a massive piece of work.

ive spent waaayyyy more time replaying mass effect 2 than i ever will with mass effect 3, multiplayer and everything, and i only play multiplayer because its required to get everything in singleplayer -_-

You know, I'm not sure if MP really influences SP but I'm agree with you, because Mass Effect is an excellent RPG game. ME3 is a RPG AND a shooter. No doubt I prefer a RPG genre. Who prefer MP says story mode boring him, but.... What they understand about it? B)

Shooter's gamers still happy receiving an order and shooting after. That's all. Who prefer "a little more" play RPG. S-i-m-p-l-e.

I think you right! Good point!

It is a stupid world... Stupid "logical", because pragmatic decisions not would be taken to all decisions. Shepard and Normandy's Team, I miss them.
