Will we ever hear from Mac Walters or Casey Hudson?

ME3 may have did well initially, but as soon as the negative word of mouth about the ending spread like wildfire, all hope was lost.

If I were Casey or Mac I wouldn't touch this form (or any ME forum) with a ten foot pole until the EC comes out. Why? Because regardless of my intentions, I would be eaten alive and end up feeling horrible about myself.
It has nothing to do with PR or cowardice (as far as I can tell, mixed with some educated guessing). It is a simple fact that after someone works 2.5 years on something as hard as they have, they don't want to go online and basically have people rip them a new one, laying 100% of the blame of the ending on them (regardless of whether it's deserved or not).
And I support that decision, because regardless of whether or not the ending is their 'fault,' they don't deserve the abuse they've been getting from fans, and the extra abuse they would get if they were to appear on the forums and actually attempt to have a discussion.
I believe the saying "if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen" applies here.
Agreed.

Really? ME3 is doing well when it's price dropped to $29.99 in some markets? Meanwhile, Elder of Scrolls V: Skyrim is still at it's original price of $59.99 and that game was released six months ago?

They shouldn't have lied to us, then. I can't have much sympathy for someone who hyped me up to astronomical levels and then in truth totally weaseled me out of $70. Then on top of that, talked down to me about their "artistic integrity" and ran off, never ot be heard from again.

Did it turn a profit? Maybe it did, but I don't think you fully understood the point I was trying to make.

The game didn't turn a profit. How many people got refunds from amazon, gamestop and even origin. Everyone who says bu bu the game turned a profit are being moronic. Who do you think has to reimburse amazon and gamestop, etc for returned games? That's right EA.
You know, I wanted to say that, but I thought it would be rude.

You don't understand my point. Even if the game had been exactly as they claimed early in the development cycle, you'd still be behaving like a child on the internet, and they'd still have better things to do than to have abuse heaped on them. The fault isn't with them, it's with you.Zuka999 wrote...

All that 'lies' talk isn't helping. See, what they said was perfectly true, from a certain point of view. You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

It looked good the first five or so weeks. I stopped checking after that. And ME2 dropped its price fairly quickly as well and I think it did well (again not completely sure but I think so). EA cuts prices really early for some reason.AntonioA9011 wrote...

Will start off by saying I think Bioware could have handled this all a LOT better. That goes without saying. But save your fury for after the extended cut, no matter how hard it is.
Oh, believe me, there will be plenty of fury after the extended cut releases.
Of course, I support keeping it civil and treating people with respect. Just stating the obvious.
As to the original post's question, we won't hear from them for a long time.

The only Twitter still active is Mike Gambles. You want ME3 info, go there. At least he still communicates and i got to give him credit for it. The rest are staying off the internet possibly indefinitely.

Mass Effect 2 did quite good throughout the months that it was a "hot" item. Through DLC, pre-order release bonuses, etc. I don't really remember the price dropping from $70 to $30 in a matter of weeks, though. It was more like $60 to $50. ME2 gained money through longevity, not by an initial boom of buyers like ME3.

Since there weren't as many returned as you seem to think, that's not really a problem. Also, how much do you think they made off of day 1 DLC with a high adoption rate and multiplayer packs? The answer is: Enough to turn a profit.Sublyminal wrote...

Are you serious? I figured Hudson was the one giving off cryptic messages on his Twitter account. I could be mistaken, though.

You know, I wanted to say that, but I thought it would be rude.I just let people live in denial/their own fantasy worlds. Live and let live I always say, but thanks for clarifying that.
Wasn't trying to be rude to anyone, just dislike when people try to justify these two ignoring the very people that made them famous, by saying the game made a profit. When in all actuality it didn't if anything it lost money and will continue to lose money. EAs stock wouldn't have dropped almost 3$ if one of their best games made them a profit.

I would be pleasantly suprised if they flat-out said they made mistakes and apologized for their "verbal inconsistancies". In reality, they would probably stick to the status quo of excuses: artistic integrity, vision, passionate fans, yada yada yada.
