Yep, happened to me a few days ago. Like you it had never happened on other playthroughs. The only difference I can readily identify is that this is a Blokeshep. Other playthroughs have been Femsheps because I preferred the VA in ME1, but I thought to be fair I'd do a Blokeshep run of the second game and all of a sudden some asari smacks him round the chops. WTF was that for?

Isn't it to do with the Conrad Verner bug? I think that if you correct the bug (and played The Fan mission in ME1 paragon) you get the slap, because that's what is supposed to happen.
I think.

You can use Gibbed to get the right responce. Or look it up on Youtube.

I've certainly played The Fan with a Femshep who was not slapped outside Eternity in ME2, and I was fairly sure I played The Fan the same way with the Blokeshep who just got slapped. Might be wrong and I did something slightly differently. Easy way to find out - has anyone had a Femshep who got slapped in the face by the asari there?JohnathanCrow wrote...

@PsiFive: As I understand it... the bug makes it so you can't get the slap/paragon scene because it checks the intimidate flag on a Mass Effect 1 import, and I didn't think there was ever a fix. If you didn't correct the bug on the play-through then I'm not sure what happened...

I used Gibbed to change to Paragon
That explains it
And what's worse is my femshep is one that would shoot that asari for doing that...

The Verner bug played out as normal, i.e. he went off on one about me pointing a gun at him on the Citadel. Thing is though because of the bug I always point a gun at him on the Citadel because I think, WTH might as well do it for laughs if ME2 thinks it happens anyway:lol:. It's a weird one this, but also a good one. Always nice to have something completely unexpected happen when you're playing a game for the 3rd or 4th time.JohnathanCrow wrote...

ETA: actually Biotic_Warlock's post above just made me think of something I did do different for this playthrough. I didn't use Gibbed but I did add a heap of paragon points using the glitch on Lazarus station right at the beginning of the game because the import character was a bit more renegady than others and I was worried about not making some of the checks like Zaeed's loyalty and the Miri/Jake and Legion/Tali arguments. If getting slapped is paragon related using that glitch might be something to do with why I got it this time.

As far as I know, it's only related to how the specific quest played out, not your morality score. It's bizarre that you got that scene without editing, I thought it was impossible (and haven't heard of anyone else who has done it without Gibbed's Save Editor).

As far as I had heard, the only way to get slapped is to correct the Conrad Verner bug using a saved-game editor.
#1. Stick a gun in Conrad's face = no slap in ME2, Conrad wants to be badass.
#2. Be nice to Conrad = bugged saves remember it as #1, no slap.
#3. Hack saved game to record your actions as Paragon = get slapped by Asari.

You'll have to take my word for it but I threatened Conrad with the gun in ME1 and there was no hacking or use of a save editor took place after importing to ME2 where my Shep got slapped. Just the morality points exploit on Lazarus station, which I admit I pounded away at for about an hour or so raising both meters, but mainly paragon. I also used the similar Lorik Qu'in morality point exploit on Noveria in ME1, again to give both meters a hefty boost. Other than that it was a regular playthrough so I can only assume that one or other or the combination of the two exploits had the same effect as a hack. I haven't even learned how to use Gibbed yet and when I do get round to playing with it the very first thing I'm going to do is get Legion from Omega onwards, or however early it is I can have him/it. If I had the time and know-how it might be interesting to look more at how it happened. If I used Gibbed to look at that save would I see some value somewhere set to something different from my other games where the asari club owner just ranted and complained about Conrad?
