I would expect the spawn changes to address the composition of the spawns rather than the location of them. They might make it so there is always a minimum number of a certain enemy per wave, for example. On gold, it might be minimum 2 Hunters per wave from wave 3 onwards or something similar. Just altering the mix of enemies to make it more challenging.
The thing is, the Geth dont NEED to be more challenging. It's only the exploitability of the FBWGG combo that's the problem. It would be better if they tweaked the spawns on FBW to where you could still be flanked, rather than change the way the Geth spawn/behave on every single map because of that one farming spot.
