The witcher series looks highly overrated

So not very different to the Mass Effect series in that respect

THIS!!!!!

Everyone was saying Mass effect was so good, but from the outside looking in ( and the game cover) it looked like just another average shooter.

Then I played it and have been in love with the franchise ever since. I honestly had to push myself to give it a shot, it looked so overrated at first.

It was the same with me.

Wow just read through the thread and realized I was responding to a pathetic troll. That was a waste of wrist movements

"You basically said nothing."

Eventhough everything I said was true - you're just dismissing all of it.

So that makes you a biggot........you sound like a ****ing child.

I didn't dismiss anything. I did however disprove all the crap you wrote

I bought the original Mass Effect because I heard it was made by the same people that made KOTOR and I heard it had a lot of similarities to KOTOR.

Why Witcher is better than Mass Effect? Because Sapkowski was writing whole story in Witcher 1 and 2 (and he will write Witcher 3), nobody dared to talk him into something he didnt wanted... So since prologue 1, its exactly same experience as you will get from books.

Eventhough I heard it is a mature game with a great story, I stay away from games without character creation, and only appear on one console. (Yes, I have both consoles)

Nope, I loved the Witcher world and stories long before I ever heard of ME.

I would have to agree both Mass Effect and the Witcher  are very over hyped ... praised is deserved but people act those games a freaking perfect and they are not.

I got into mass effect because i saw people playing it. Really, at the end of the day that's what matters. Not reviews or anything else. To see people playing a game, and to get into it. That's where it counts.

It pointed me in Skyrim's direction and made me replay Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

Skyrim is a very decent choice. Perhaps better than the Witcher.

So far it's entertaining me, keeping me busy and filling up the RPG hole that I had thought ME3 would. Voice acting is good too.

I used to love Mass Effect, then I took a Witcher 1/2 (With the choices that actually MATTER and better story)

To the knee.

Not yet, but I want to. I did wipe out on entire household with it once on accident.

I liked the look of The Witcher 2, so I bought it. Although it had nothing to do with Mass Effect 3. But I have to say having played both of them, I'm more interested in TW series now.

DA2 got me to the Witcher. I was so disappointed with DA2 (Hated it so much I never even finished the first chapter in the city) and everyone was hyping the upcoming Witcher 2 at the time. I saw the Witcher 1 on Steam and grabbed it on sale. I loved it, so I pre-ordered the Witcher 2. They changed a lot of the combat and mechanics between the games, but I loved it too.

Your stuck playing as the same protaginist that you can't change up,  he appears to have the same weapon layout each time and is there even a class system in the game?  It looks like there isn't.

Yet you're happy playing as Shepard who is much the same aside from looks, fine with an upgrade and customization system similar to the Witcher's in terms of scope, and are then judging the game based on if there's a class system.

Well, Halo: Reach has none of that and yet it still has Mass Effect 3 beat in both gameplay and overall story.

Face it, you made a pretty much irrelevant comment. Either play it and judge it, or reserve opinion. If you don't think it looks good: fine. Saying it's overrated whilst not being able to rate it is meaningless.

I agree.

It used to play Skyrim like you, until I took a Witcher to the knee.

Yeah, I always felt I had more control over sculpting Geralts personality than I did Shepard. At least when comparing ME3 to TW2. ME1 still felt like the most player control over Shep.
