It's why B movies gain so much word of mouth buzz. People love the movie Pitch Black....then when they gave the guy money for a big budget movie, he created crap.

I wouldn't say ME3 led me to The Witcher, but I did play the two Witcher games after I was more or less done with ME3 (for the time being, anyway, waiting for the EC.) It just kind of happened, though.

The hyperbole-free reason why this comparison is often made here, btw, is just that it's kind of obvious. The games are very similar in the way they're structured, especially TW2 with its more action-oriented combat, so you kind of can't help but compare the two.

Overall, I do like TW2 better than the ME games, as a standalone game, but saying it does absolutely everything Bioware promised for the ME series is just silly. Importing your choices from the first game to the second has very little effect on how anything plays out. For example, one of the two love interests in TW1 just gets phased out completely and you wake up with the other one in your bed at the beginning of the second game. Imagine the nerdrage on this board if Shepard woke up next to Liara at the beginning of ME3 no matter what. And all they did to alleviate this was add a journal entry in the EE version that explains what happened.

And much like ME3, the game ends pretty much the same way with a few cosmetic changes no matter what you did. It's just that the story seems to incorporate your choices in ways that make more logical sense, and because Geralt, unlike Shepard, isn't really at the center of any of the political machinations, it works better.

Kind of. One of my best friends, who is also a huge Mass Effect fan, has been trying to get me to play Witcher next because a) he loves it, and he thinks it will help me transition from Mass Effect to Skyrim, which he has been trying to get me to play for months.

He's the friend that got me into Mass Effect in the first place, years ago. But I have to say, I'm less interested in Witcher because there's no character customization. I'm a girl, and I like playing games as a female character if I can. It doesn't make or break a game for me, and I definitely intend to play Witcher as soon as I can bring myself to delete some other games and make space on my hard drive for it, but I'm definitely less excited for it knowing that I can't make my own personalized character to play as.

No I played the Witcher a long time ago. Can't remember exactly when, but my first playthrough was before CDP released the enhanced edition of TW1. But its good to hear of another Witcher fan. Its a really fantastic series.

Pitch Black was great and it was more of A movie performance wise and how it was shot.

As for OP's question. A lot of people had told me that it was, fact, a good game. I was interested in it before ME3 came out. But I never had a PC powerful enough to play it. Fortunately the Xbox 360 version came out recently.

Not really no, nor did DA2 lead me to the TW2, I was prepared to buy it long before DA2 came out.

I played TW1 when it came out, loved the game, loved the EE thought it was the best RPG I had ever played at the time.

Then came TW2. Which is a piece of art if there is such in video gaming.

I think he means swearing just for the sake of swearing.  When someone does that it seems like they are just posing or trying to come of as a tough guy or something.  I am not saying that game does that (havn't played it) but I think that is what he meant.

Ugh..jesus...see this is the type of person who likes TW2.  Anyone who read what I typed could see that I was dumbfounded or offended that by being considerred as a unintelligetn person.....who wouldn't be.

But the insult that is the reply is dubbed a "soft spot" as to vocalize to everyone that I have a weakness.  

As for the rest of you post:

- I ****ing love swear words.....I'm what you wold call a connoisseur of swear words.  So I feel I have enough knowledge of them to know when they're used like a godam 12 year old.

- The sex might not be in your face but the boobs in the beginning which don't serve as any part of the story are.   It's a shamless attempt to gain fans from the anime porn addicts.

- Guess what.....the combat?......it's part of the game.  Since this is a game I don't give a flying flagrant **** if you were talking about it.  It's almost **** and thats a fact.

As for OP's question. A lot of people had told me that it was, fact, a good game. I was interested in it before ME3 came out. But I never had a PC powerful enough to play it. Fortunately the Xbox 360 version came out recently.

Yes, I've played some of the game.  But eventhough the requirements say "2GB RAM" and I have 4GB RAM I still have to do a "bcdedit" to enable more RAM.  It was a chore getting this game to work. So since I have to do this whenever I want to play the game I don't play it but here and there.

As for the intelligent part:  If it treats the player as an intelligent person and I don't like the game then I would be considerred unintelligent.
