I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but can anyone tell me if romancing Thane prevents other romances in ME3?  (Especially given the fact that Thane dies no matter what.)  My Shepherd romanced Kaidan in ME1 and Thane in ME2, and apologized to Kaidan in the hospital; but now that Thane has died, I no longer have the option to continue the romance with Kaidan.  We met on the Citadel, but I wasn't given the option to continue the romance.  Can anyone tell me what the contingency factors are here?

Having romanced Thane shouldn't have anything to do with it,so far as I know. If you can't romance Kaidan, it might be because you've already started a romance with someone else (Liara or Traynor, in this case). Also, it is my understanding that you can get locked out of the romances with Ashley, Kaidan or Liara if you take one too many Renegade options while speaking to them (especially on Mars, in the case of Ashley and Kaidan). With those three in particular, it's best to play it safe and just go Paragon most or all of the time you talk to them.

Thane doesn't even count as a romance, so that's not what's preventing you from romancing Kaidan.
