In the summer, my room can get pretty hot. It's external heat i'm worried about on behalf of my RAM (& other puder parts) rather than the self-generated heat of the puder. The summer sun looks to me like it's more dangerous a heat threat than any puder activity.
Plus, I still have to hope my mom does manage to change the plan. I guess i'll find out at my birthday. She said that even if she manages to change the plan, it might cause me to have to wait till at or a bit after my birthday, Jan. 13th, due to shipping time. I said that was fine, for accuracy is WAY more important thn speed for this. Speed is tertiary importance, for without accuracy, my puder building efforts will meet mission failure.
After I get the puder, (if the puder plan succeeds) I'll see how much cash I got left to work with, & plan optional upgrades, the PSU change bein top of that list. My Okia will last for awhile, I just need to get it changed before it reaches the end of it's lifespan. It's the Okia's lifespan end where it's bad quality shows up.

Just make sure she understands she should buy both the CPU and motherboard from either the original plan or the new one - you don't want to end up with a P45 motherboard and AMD CPU.

I anticipated that. I sent her an email with links for the parts for the new plan, so she has all the info in 1 spot to try to avoid confusion. I also made sure to give the email a subject line & tell her exactly what subject line to watch out for.Xiphias wrote...

1: Mom got too swamped on dealing with other people's xmas so she has transferred the puder parts task to me. (On the bright side, she hadn't got any of the stuff yet so I got a clean slate to work with.)
2: I changed my RAM choice to the Crucial brand. I double-checked my research, (Always try to do so when I can.) & the motherboard, CPU, & Graphics Card re-passed, but the Patriot RAM didn't. I spotted a review I didn't before that cautioned possible compatibility risk between AMD Motherboards in general & this brand of Patriot RAM, but on the otherhand, I spotted 2 reviews for the Crucial RAM that listed their specs, & their motherboard is the exact same brand & model in my build plan, & both reported success with the motherboard - RAM compatibility, one with flying colors. Compatibility trumps Heat Spreader power by far.
& another sidenote, I thought I read somethin in one of those reviews about RAM Heat Spreaders bein possible to buy seperately & install onto RAM sticks. Did I read this right, can this be done?
Edit: <sigh> Now mom's bein ambiguous about if she's already got some or all of the parts or not.
