Wow. She is pretty easy to anger. How many points are actually needed? I can understand her being upset about (some of) this but actually wanting the Reapers to win??? Same for Kaidan? He didn't rejoin my crew in one playthrough but never went as far as in this thread.

Nah, I think she meant she wanted the Reapers to just kill Shepard for some sort of posthumous revenge.

Don't know how much (negative) points you need to get the worst version of this scene with no option to convince them. But there are 4 "levels" of relationship with VS:

If you did everything right with them, you don't need to make a Persuade -- they step down and side with you.

If you messed up a few things (cheated on them, took angry dialog options), you need to make a Persuade to not have to shoot them.

If you messed up a LOT (cheated and lied about it), you need to make a really hard Persuade to not have to shoot them.

If you messed up a TON (for example, cheated, lied, Thane/Kirrahe aren't there to save the Councilor, and Udina pulls up a vid that frames you for killing said Councilor), then you have no way to avoid having to shoot them.

So you have to screw up a ton to be forced to shot them.

Ash is kind of an annoying b-tch in this one. By the end of the opening of the game my Shep was ready to send her out of an airlock

It's not screwing up if you meant to do all those things. I choose to be renegade with her but I at least take the time to visit her in the hospital because I'd feel bad if I didn't. It's not that I'm trying to be mean to her, I just don't like paragon responses 95% of the time.

Not convinced those are all screw ups. Concentrating on Sovereign in ME1 seems fair and if you didn't play ME1 that is the default. I wouldn't call getting involved with someone else after 2+ years when she doesn't want anything to do with you, as cheating. And what is wrong with not romancing her in the first place? If you are a commander she should be put in her place on Mars, the way it is done is not unreasonable, whereas she is. Is Kirrahe dead by default if you didn't play ME1? What about Thane if you didn't play ME2?

Edit: Incidently, if you don't go to the hospital in the first place and see him, Thane doesn't save the salarian councilor even if he was alive at the end of me2.

If you don't import a save, you can't get many of the best scenarios...
You can still save the VS; it's just harder...

nah ash is better than kaiden in my opinion I have 9 shepards starting from me1 to me2 to me3 and only one of them kaiden survive but he is better that jacob(shudders)

Well Kaidan is the ultimate wingman and he gives me Carth KOTOR nostalgia.

I liked Carth. Kaidan and Ash have upsides, but for the most part I think they're ****es after ME1.

Here's a rough break down of the Virmire Survivor's emotional mindset after ME1...

ME2 Horizon: Patriotic Doubting Thomas
ME3 Earth: Snarky Doubting Thomas
ME3 Mars: Cynical Doubting Thomas
ME3 Cerberus Citadel: Dutiful Doubting Thomas
ME3 After Cerberus Citadel: Horny Complainer*

After experiencing them in ME3 I had to RED OPTION both in all additional playthrus. GET OFF MY SHIP!

*However in fairness just about all the characters become horny after the Cerberus attack on the Citadel.

I seriously can't figure out why people have a problem with Mars. I only recall one incident where Ash doubted Shepard's sincerity and she immediately backed down and apologized afterwards.

She seemed more inclined to think Shep was being controlled by the Illusive Man, and really, can you blame her for wondering about that?

I mean seriously, you all see the comments on the BSN and think Ash is being unreasonably hostile?

I really wished I would have saved Kaidan, in matter of fact the only reason I didn't was because Ash was younger........

Basically this 

The sad fact is that Ashley's character is the only one who didn't grow from a maturity stand point. She still doesn't trust you no matter what you do. She gives hateful, suspicious, and trite comments whenever you talk to her. Her character went from understanding through the progression of ME1 to total b***h in ME2 and ended more a mess than ever in ME3.

The only chance she shows growth is if you romance her and that becomes more of a chore than fun. ME2 characters had more depth. Jack and Miranda overcame more than Ashley ever will and the writing reflects that.
