I have a better question. Why can't Kaidan use Barrier in a cutscene? Ohh right because then the entire stand-off would have to be differently constructed from Ashley's...

I 'd prefer some sort of other execution against him.
Maybe your squadmate holds him down and you biotic fist him or tear his guts out or drop him to his death after breaking his arms.

Its a shame Garrus couldn't use that Widow rifle I gave him when he shot Ashley instead of whatever gun it is instead. That would've been way more awesome.

My favorite playthru has the Virmire situation go like this...

ME1: Romance Ashley
ME1: Save Kaidan, Ashley dies a hero, Shepard's outlook hardens
ME2: Tell Kaidan he's an idiot
ME2: Romance Jack
ME3: Tell Kaidan he's an idiot, send him to Hackett

Side Thought: If I could have booted Tali off the ship I would too, even though I like her. So much of me wishes ME3 allowed us to pick and choose from ME1/ME2 squad mates. I'd have recruited; Garrus, Liara, Jack, Kasumi, Zaeed, and Grunt.

This was never going to happen, unless they had like 4 years to develop ME3. Allowing to recruit from all ME1/2 squadmates would mean that they would have to prepare content for all 17 squaadmates from these 2 games. 17 freaking squadmates. ME2 already had problems with 12 squadmates, there was no interaction between them because of the size of the squad. Imagine the situation with 17 squadmates.

Stay classy ash, stay classy.
I really wished I would have saved Kaidan, in matter of fact the only reason I didn't was because Ash was younger........

You shot her to death.  I think she's right to be pissed.

^THIS

BTW that makes me like her even more, because that's realistic... You know if I were her I would also say the same thing to your Shepard

Was the Reaper on Rannoch a Capital ship then?

No, it wasn't. Unfortunately, we don't fight a Sovereign-class Reaper like we fight the Destroyers.

In the video the OP posted, Garrus shot her, not Shepard.

Actually, there was interaction between squadmates, but only when you brought 2 of them along with you.

Garrus and Tali's discussion about the elevators is probably the most popular one.

Garrus and Grunt have a short conversation when Grunt sees some corpses and remarks that he's hungry, Garrus tells him he should keep that kinda thing to himself.

I'm sure there are others. ME3 did pull this off better though, having them move around and talk to each other on the ship and all that.

Cool, I did not even know that was possible.
It will most likely never happen to me, I am just too soft to let a possible squadmate die when it is so easy to let them survive (Wrex never died in any of my playthroughs).

My first few trilogy playthroughs, I was loyal to Ash the whole way.

But she twice refused to stand by me: once on Horizon, once at the Citadel, and then repeatedly in small matters where she stopped trusting me. So I asked myself, doesn't Shepard deserve better?.

Why, yes, yes he does.

This was my thought all the way through my Ash romance.

Does anyone have a video of the Kaidan equivalent to this? I have to admit I didn't know you could sow such mistrust with Ashley.

I've never seen that video Udina has before. Is it real, or does he fabricate it?

He fabricates it if Kirrahe and Thane are both dead

In Bring Down the Sky (ME1 DLC), they don't. The scared dude shoots you and you stand there without flinching.

But yeah, artistic integrity. Or, if you prefer, the battery is depleted from a recent battle. Well, they call it a battery in the books. It's probably more of a capacitor, since it seems to charge endlessly.

"Hey Ash, have some Medigel, then we'll talk about your court martial for assisting the assassination of the galactic council"

That would have been a good retort. She does get on my nerves as well. If only there could be a choice of no VS, both being nuked into oblivion

That's because you were working with terrorists. Some people don't like that.

I was dead for two years, I'm rebuild by them not voluntarily, went trough hell and back with her, romanced her, yet she doesn't have the decency to hear me out, then she doubt me in all of mars -__-

Did you romance someone else in ME2? Did you fess up about it? If you didn't then you just made the situation worse.

THIS!  I might even go back and save Ashley on Virmire just so I could tell her that.

Even Joker pointed out that her annual performance review is going to include the attempted murder of her commanding officer.

Ashley's suspicions are a good thing, and are part of what makes me like her. If your significant other started running around with a brutal gang of murderous thugs who kidnapped people and performed Mengele-style experiments on them, you might start to reevaluate the relationship. Ashley wasn't indoctrinated by the facade of a friendly crew. She knew what Cerberus was all along. She was right and Shepard was wrong.

If I hadn't run off with Cerberus, she would have been abducted, liquefied, and injected into a human proto-reaper that I then would have had to kill.

I did NOT want to be part of Cerberus.  I refused to wear their uniform.  I told TIM off at every opportunity.  Immediately after the Collector mission, I stole the Normandy and gave it to the alliance.

Ashley should have known who I am.  Compare her treatment of Shepard to Liara's.  Liara hunted down your body, betrayed the Shadowbroker to keep your corpse from the Collectors, gave you to Cerberus for your resurrection, and mourned your death for two years while being hunted by assassins who are only hunting her because of what she did for you.

When you come back to her, the only reason she wants to break up is because it's been two years and she doesn't want to chain you - no matter how much she would cry if you split up.

Liara ALWAYS trusted me.  Ash and I share the same faith in Jesus, and yet she can't give me the benefit of the doubt?

It all boils down to trust, and she will never trust me.  How can you love someone you don't trust?

Eh, my playthrough had Shepard highly suspicious of TIM and Cerberus, but having to make do with the lesser of two evils and using the flawed tools available to stop the greater immediate threat of the Reapers.  I loved her tough-minded attitude, but the immediate reversion to distrust got a little old...

Sure you might be a grudging collaborator, but you're still working with the most evil group in the history of humanity.  People didn't exactly shower Quisling with love either.

So dispite it being completely reasonable, Cerberus not gaining anything from it, blowing up the base they wanted, you think it's great how Ashley doesn't trust Shepard even though everything logical points to the fact that Shepard doesn't give a damn about Cerberus? Unless you're happy Ashley is an idiot, not trusting an old friend who saved you/or a love interest is not acceptable.

Ashley is the least trustable squadmate, Garrus and Tali who were both aliens trusted Shepard enough to use Cerberus, while Ashley refused to hear reason, and continues to do so in ME3 unless you are unbelieavably forgiving to her in every dialogue, and even then she's willing to trust Udina over Shepard if you don't make a speech to her. Which shouldn't be necessary.

Like I said, like her if you want, but it's not unreasonable for people to hate her for not having Shepard's back.

EDIT: The guy above me also knows what he's talking about.

Yeouch! You clearly do not have a way with women, Op.

For myself, I never have that much trouble with Kaidan. Once he gets over his confusion over me and my squad popping out of that elevator instead of Cerberus, he's more than happy to off Udina for me and everything is water under the bridge after that. And, that's even with my Shep who let the Council die.

You must really have been an ogre to that Ashley given how easy it is to get the VS to trust you again.

I think that it is unfair to expect Ash to unconditionally take your side after you sign up with the lovechild of the Klan and the SS. She didn't get the Normandy Charm Offensive like you did, and it's also unfair of you to expect her to read your mind and understand that you're just playing along with TIM. She's seen how bad Cerberus is, and she helped you close them down. Now all of the sudden you show up and you're with them? Ashley's not an 'ends justify the means' fanatic like Garrus, nor is she a lovestruck child like Liara, nor is she a fool.

Really, I think that Ashley feels more hostile to Cerberus than any of the other squadmates. These people are using Ash's own ideology (that a strong humanity should look after themselves first and foremost), and using it as a justification for horrors. Instead of helping humanity, Cerberus is just pointless cruelty and murder.
