I keep getting a message saying the ME3 server is down and, for that reason, I cannot load my saved game due to "From Ashes" being missing.

I have to believe Bioware included some mechanism by which I can still use my content that I've paid for when they elect to take their servers down for whatever reason. Is there some way to reenable this? If they've actually included contingency to prevent us from playing their content because THEY took the server down, that's pretty damn weak.

I've never tried it, but apparently if you run origin in Offline Mode you can play single player even with the DLC.

Alternatively, try closing origin and restarting it, then running the game.
