haha. Somehow I don't see the griffons allowing you to make them into "pets". They're probably way too noble for that. In fact I kinda wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be sentient - of mabari-level intelligence or higher.
Lol not a pet in a traditional sense, it would be like keeping a horse... it's still kinda like having a pet, except it's your mighty steed.

You're right - that'd be insanely awesome. If the dragons survived their "extinction" then the griffons could too. Also in the facebook DA game one of the load screen animations shows someone riding a halla. I want a griffon AND a halla please!LolaLei wrote...

Yeah really want to find some live Griffons in next dragon age game. Absolutely loved discussion with Wynne about griffons and her growing exasperation at my character's obsession with them.
Aw yeah, that was cute as hell! My Warden loved Griffons too!

I'd much rather have a griffon companion than yet another mabari. I loved my mabari in DAO but in DA2 he was simply a copy of the Warden's dog. He didn't even have a unique background story or a personality and I don't get attached to copies.

A Griffon companion. Please make it so.
