Why pay for the Rebellion DLC? [Poll]
#1
Posté 16 mai 2012 - 12:50
Let me summarize:
Resurgence: 3 new races (Geth, Justicar, Batarian)
Rebellion: 3 new races (Vorcha, Phoenix, Male Quarian)
Resurgence: 6 new classes
Rebellion: 6 new classes
Resurgance: 2 new maps
Rebellion: 2 new maps
Resurgance: 3 new weapons
Rebellion: 3 new weapons
So why should it not be free of charge too? Why should we now pay for it when we saw that it is also possible to get such content updates for free? Some developers like CD Project (Witcher) do stuff like this constantly FOR FREE!
Does EA think the sh*tstorm has calmed and they can do whatever they like again? Was the first free DLC just some propaganda and a PR move?
I say we DO NOT buy this DLC and show EA that we are not puppets who they can control like they please.
Of course if the rumours are false and we get it for free this becomes redundant.
Poll included: social.bioware.com/3889039/polls/33904/
What are your thoughts about this?
Note: This is about MP only. Do not dicsuss SP here please, because obviously that requires more work (VO, cinematics and stuff)

Seems like a legit plan to keep interest and garner paid downloads!

Kasumi: 1 character, 1 mission, 1 weapon
One free (with every new game), one paid. Your choice whether or not it's worth it, that's all there is to it.

Hell no. All this pay to play DLC stuff does for multiplayer is segregate the community. You'll end up with servers supporting those who do have the DLC, and others who don't. The MP community is already dwindling slowly - don't need a DLC pack to do it even more.
If it comes with a price tag I certainly won't be purchasing it. ME3 Multiplayer is fun, but it's buggy as hell and Bioware have done nothing in the past two months to patch it. I'm not paying for a beta.

According to rumours it will cost something this time.
I hope it will cost nothing, but given that this is EA, I will remain catious.

If it's not, I will not purchase it. If bioware starts selling BUG FIXES, then I'll buy some of those.

But if they actually released a paid map pack...Knowing how it would split the community in two, not sure I could justify that.

See, rumours do not mean anything, so quit trying to start one.
EVERY MP expansion will be free because of the RNG.

They try to capitalize off microtransactions already so it better be free.

Remember who we are dealing with here: The same guys who sold us the day 1 DLC. I remain catious. EA have to make money and they COULD feel safe now that the EC and Resurgence was/will be free, so who knows....

So where did you hear that rumour?
I do not doubt it will be free. Larger MP DLCs will not be free, but this isn't "large" (Can't really say that as we haven't seen any large MP DLCs yet, but we probably will), so it will cost nothing.
Besides, if they put a price tag on this one, they'll split the playerbase, which would be a very bad move, and one I think BioWare/EA will try to avoid at all costs.
EDIT: Saw your link. Can't read German, but one site saying that Rebellion will cost does not make it a rumour one should listen to.
