Just met some guys in the lobby the other day. As soon as they noticed my Widow VII, one of them said that I must have spent points to upgrade it (although VII is actually not that high).

The truth is, i have paid not a single cent to get weapons or characters. Everything I have unlocked so far I got them all by spending in-game credits. Though I admit I must have been quite lucky with the packs I have purchased. So far I have all characters unlocked, all Commons at X, as well as Uncommons apart from Incisor IX. Widow VIII, Claymore IX, Striker VIII, Carnifex VII and GPSMG VII, everything else on Rares at X.

From the N7s I only miss Valiant, Indra and Collector's rifle, the rest are mostly at I.
I'm sure there are people who have maxed the rares and have all N7s without paying for them... just curious.

It's all I use. I dont even play this game, I just spend Microsoft points unlocking everything so that people on here get jealous when they see my manifest.

I do regularly, not because I need what is inside, but just to show some support to the current system- I like RNG, for all its flaws it does give us all the ability to play the same content and I hope it becomes a permanent addition to gaming.

I have spent maybe $100, or basically what I'd spend on a nice dinner, for vastly more entertainment.

Not a cent to this point, which would explain my terrible weapons (that and enjoying bronze most), but that's going to change shortly. I think it's fair to dish them a few dollars periodically for my enjoyment of the game. Nothing too extreme, but that's how I always do with ftp games: if I enjoy it, I'll spend a little money in return.

I spent $10 until I came to these forums and realized that spending money didn't ever increase my chances at getting ultra rares (since you can get character cards you've already maxed) so I stopped. If you could buy guns you actually wanted, I'd continue spending real money.

I haven't. I like to play the game, and by doing that I get credits. Once I have everything unlocked, it kind of gets boring. I'd basically be paying to limit my enjoyment of the game.

I think that's why Diablo II was so popular in its day. Getting rares and uniques kept people slogging through the same old dungeons with the same old monsters over and over. That's essentially what we are doing here, slogging through the same old maps with the same old monsters, but with a greatly expanded character creation and team dynamic that makes it less...slogging.

well, in behalf of all the cheapskates on ME3, I sincerely thank you all for supporting the micro transaction system that allows us to get free multiplayer DLCs! :wizard:

I've definitely spent "real money" for weapons and characters and I've done pretty well by it

I bought a 1200MSP card to pay for the From Ashes DLC, and blew the leftovers on a couple of Spectre packs. Pulled an M-98 Widow and an Asari Adept before I'd played my first multiplayer game.

I was considering spending more, but at this point I'm down to CCs and Ultra-Rares so it's not really worth it.

Yeah I did.

Went two whole weeks after Resurgance hit and all I had to show for it was the friggin' Kishock I and Batarian Sentinel which I got from the free Commendation Pack.

So I bought 2100 Microsoft points, bought some bits n' pieces like NBA Jam and some DLC for Gears of War then just blew whatever was left on Spectre packs.

I think I got one of the Geth and the Justicar from that mini-splash out which was fiine by me.

And I don't have any X rares yet. Highest is a Widow VIII and only one level (VI) came from buying a pack with money.

Spent a little bit, lost it all to the store glitch, won't spend again.. especially as Bioware/Ea refuse to even acknowledge my emails regarding the issue.

A little bit frustrating...

I have just for the fact that when I first started I wanted a good weapon base to start mp with. But it also has to do with the fact I don't have a lot of time to play, so if I have some spare cash I'll buy some points and buy a few packs.

I spent 80 bioware points on a Veteran pack on the first day. I had them left in my account, and was glad I could at least spend them on SOMETHING. It even unlocked a new character for me.

Since then : none. Screw this EA "buy all the unlocks with real money" nonsense. Coming soon: a "unlock everything to X!" pack for 2000 EAware points.

If I worked at Bioware, my skin would crawl from all this crap.

I got a $50 microsoft points card as a gift. So I decided to just buy psps with it since there was really nothing else I'd want to spent the points on.

Got a bunch of sweet double character cards and 1 Saber. :/

Actually it did upgrade my GPS, Graal, and Carni up a bit so that was worth it.

I have spend 240 microsoft points =D When I started to play MP.
So in real money €2,88 or £2.06, US $3. Not too much I think.

PS. if you wanna know how point are in real money or other way around www.xboxpointsconverter.co.uk/ I have looked how much some DLC or games etc. really cost :wizard:

I am ashamed to say that I did twice, once before I really felt comfortable on silver and gold and therefore wasn't making much credits and wanted some good guns, and once just after resurgence came out to pick up a couple of extra resurgence packs.

No. I don't see the point. If you play long enough and get half way decent, then you'll earn game credits.

zero-given that the packs are random i will not pay for something i can't pick what i want it besides the pay out for a gold mission is high enough that a good group of people can rack up lots of cash there by eliminating the need to actually purchase packs with money
