Confession: I remove scoreboard from my screen mid-game very rarely.
Coming out: I check my score mid-game often.

I check because I'm so hyper competitive that even in a game that is not PvP, I MUST BEAT ALL OF THE PLAYERS

I check the scoreboard ALOT. mainly for the reasons everyone else mentioned (competitiveness and so on) But i do so more frequently if im a lower level, N7 or otherwise. Guess i like to prove level isn't everything. Gotta love when the underdog kicks the most asz XD

I do this too. Mainly when I'm experimenting on builds and different play styles or when there's another player using the same class as me. I just can't help it.

It's cool you admit to being human. BUT! stop sugarcoating the whole "coming out" with explanations!

If i am not in first or second i get the feeling i did something wrong...
still... i think despite what people say: it IS a competition... and you should do your best to stay on top of the scoreboard... score means, you actually did "some" damage
ah yes, and dont die, thats pretty important too

it's the escape key. I didn't figure it out til N-7 level 100 or something.
I check it occasionally, but normally I'm running back to the group's starting point and don't have time. I almost never have the high score and I've come to accept that.
Actually, if I do have the high score, everyone else is doing something very wrong and we're probably screwed.

I do check it occasionally, but if i'm playing with a ridiculous set up, like a QE with all melee upgrades, or playing in a party with friends i'm prone to check more often, but only between rounds.

Those that usually end up top I bet rarely look at the score. Those that do because they sense they are dragging things down shouldn't. It will only make you do stupid things like launch their final cobra across the map to get a kill streak during an objective wave. Only to cause the mobs to spawn at hack site.

Yep, I check the score, and yes, it's because I'm ridiculously competitive and want to be number 1. You know that guy who charges around bronze and silver games racking up kills instead of helping out his team? I'm that guy. I am scum.

I'm such a doofas that I didn't even know how or that you could check, until, by accident, 2 or 3 weeks ago I found it. Now I check once or so during the game just to see where I'm at with the whole, how bad am I doing thingy. Sometimes I surprise myself.

I do it. I just can't stand being in last place, let alone finishing there, so I step it up before the match is done

Yeah, what's up with that? First this forum indoctinated me that N7 rank doesnt matter, so public gold and no judging from my part. So i get ready to play with low rankers and suddenly the host changes to bronze. It's like they purposfully trap players from gold to help them on bronze.

I check the score occasionally. Ideally, the scores and stats would be online somewhere, so when I am killing time at work (like now), I could review my matches and stats. It would be interesting to see which powers and guns have produced the most kills for me and which enemies have killed me the most.

I love it when i have double the points of the next 2 players combined with my infiltrators, and try and maintain the margin - on gold it adds an extra challenge. With other classes i don't seem to play as well so i don't usually bother checking the score until post game.

yep at the end of every wave, dont always want to be first but i dont want to be last, at least not my thousands of points

I do check the score. Only to identify leechers though. So I don't bother when playing with friends.

Only check in random games. Two reasons:
- check for leechers
- see if someone is struggling and try to assist
Don't care about my score as long as I feel I'm helping the team and nobody calls me out on something.

I always check between waves. What else is there to do if there are no Krogan around to headbutt with?

Oh god I am guilty of this.
Particularly if it's a particularly competitive friend of mine & I duoing, and when I'm playing an unfamiliar class/character and want to know exactly how badly I am disgracing myself.
Also when I've lost track of which wave we're on, but who doesn't do that.
