Anyway, I gues I said all that to say that I don't hate Jacob. I just think he is the most misunderstood character in the franchise, and that's his writer's fault.

OT: He hasn't had really much that made him interesting or unique besides his attractiveness. On top of that, the few who really liked him got dumped pretty bad. Jacob is a jerk in ME3.

1. He is nobody
2. I mean nobody
3. He is not special on anything
4. Does not add anything to story
5. Just random soldier
6. Boring guy with boring attitude
7. Compared to others he is invisible
8. He thinks he is third in command and does not realize Garrus is
9 And Tali
10. His personal story is dull
11. Loyality mission is boring and gets special attention from TIM
12. Talks always when you finished mission. Why? He is not in charge or give any advice's. ME1 did this good when ALL squadmembers were in room talking about last mission not just Jacob or Miranda
13. Talks **** about people you recruit. Legion, Thane. He tries to get Tali hate more Cerberus than she already does
Those are my reasons, im not only one i think

My FemShep didn't romance him but I always got the feeling it was purely flirtatious and sexual. She's not into younger men anyways. So when she saw him helping the Cerberus scientists I was all, "Good for you! I'm convinced you won't be anything like your dad."
But for the Jacobmanced FemSheps...holy geez. I would've wanted them to at least be given the option to kick him in the nuts or punch him in the face to redeem her dignity.

Jacob is a boring character with little character, horrible in combat and is just plain unint5resting. Then in ME3 he is not only OOC and makes no sense, he decides to cheat on you if you romanced you and then dumps you. I don't like cheaters, so Jacob can die for all I care.

But this isn't his game, and we're not playing as him, so he comes across as a bit flat.
Also he is the most suicidal member of your squad in combat (possible I wasn't using him right) and gives some hilariously bad advice. (Vents? Sure, I can do that! Let's go get the Reapers NOW.)

Jacob is boring. He beats Kaiden at being boring, which is remarkable.
The way he talks is irritating.
In ME2 he is terrible in combat - shotguns and heavy pistol? Pull? I bring him for loyalty mission, thats it.
In ME3 he cheats on Shepard. 6 months and he's knocked up Lady Hawk. Talk about filling stereotypes. Then again I have no idea why any girl would romance him.

This explains it well.DeathScepter wrote...
he is not boring and not having personality flaws that stem from his daddy issues unlike the Cerberus Cheerleader or Tali. And capable in battle. Also Jacob has more authority than Garrus or Tali.
Also Jacob isn't really that bad, He's a good character that may be a bit Monotonous (IMO) but he is definitely being underrated. Although when Jacob met his father I was like
"Omg...Jacob's going to kill his father"
*Jacob pulls out his pistol*
"He's gonna do it O.O"
Jacob:"You're lucky you're not even worth the one bullet it would take to kill you."
Me:"-.- So close to doing something interesting"
I think most people just do a "Judge a book by it's cover" sort of thing. I mean just look at the males and their interest in Miranda. Given she is a good character but she's overrated IMO. Her backstory....to me isn't all that interesting. Sure it has emotional ties, but not as much as most other squadmates backstories.

But even then, the improvement is not very big. He goes from a gun that Cerbeurs hired in ME2 to a guy who defends Cerberus defectors and does a little wet-work for Admiral Hackett. I was hoping to see him in more of a leadership role. Also, while his character is more likeable, I had to laugh at him a few times because of the voice-acting. Particularly, those bits in the hospital. The guy that voices him is kind of amateur if you ask me.

- Is a biotic, but instead of a background of implants and training like Kaidan, he only has "good stuff".
- Spends his life second guessing my judgment over who I bring to MAH ship.
- Is overshadowed by all the other men, even Zaeed, who as a character is as flat as it gets.

His character was pretty awful in ME2. I thought he does improve in ME3 though. I don't think that him moving on from romanced femshep is a terrible thing either, so I don't hold that over him.

His character was pretty dope in me2, and he did sound odd in the hospital in me3, but it was the same actor whose always done him great before, so i dont know

When he wanted to throw Legion out an Air Lock, I honestly wanted to do the same thing, Hell I never wanted to even grab the thing and take with us off the Reaper. But I was forced to do it for the sake of the story. I wanted to still throw it out an airlock, in fact my first time I played ME2 I didn't do anything with Legion until after the Suicide Mission. I kept him deactivated.
Jacob T. was often like the dude in the game who said what ever I was thinking, and basing my judgements on from what I knew and did in ME1. I always liked him for that reason, and I really felt like he was more of my 2nd in command than Miranda ever was. Given Miranda was so loyal to Cerberus I didn't trust her as far as I could throw her. Jacob T. on the other hand I liked, and was quick to trust him.

- Even Zaeed has better character development in his loyalty mission. We get to learn something about his background, what he stands for, what he's willing to do. His final scene killing Vido pretty much summarizes who he is, so it was meaningful.
Now, Jacob before meeting dad: I received a signal but I don't care about my father. That wound is already closed. It's just that maybe it's not automatic.
After meeting dad: Still don't care. I already mourned him ten years ago.
Yup great development there.

- He shouldn't be in the comm room in the first place. His job consists of making guns and doing push ups, why is he, a gun for hire, even there giving his opinion about people as if he mattered? If anything I'd rather have Miranda's opinion, you know, the second in command, and someone with tactical knowledge and leadership.

Jacob was clearly the next in command after miranda for cerberus, thats why it was always he and miranda in the comm room, in fact jacob was there more than mirana w/ mordin being like the third after those 2.....and zaeed was 1 dimensional as could be though i didnt hate him {or any me character}, Jacob was a very moral, good guy who was drawn away from the alliance by their bs and ened up with cerberus JUST LIKE SHEPARD, he was a bro, a kindred spirit....and its always obvious theres alot going on w/ him, he seemed to be a deep thinker, he did talk about bars a bit much though, buy thats nitpicking
