Almost.

I was dealing with the Conner situation, and I asked him to be Brave to help me. However, I was still unable to bring myself to kill him, so Isolde did it. It wasn't quite tears, but it's the first time I've ever felt guilty about my action in a videogame.

Sten approves+4 if you take the responsibility.

Just tried that scenario recently too, Isolde literally breaks down and it's really sad. The acting is top-notch in that scene, and even if it's an 'evil' scenario, I must admit it was very well done. However, you should have done it urself - there's an option for you to deck her b4 u do the deed! Found it rather hilarious

I just finished the Brecilian Forest again, and yes, last night seeing The Lady of the Forest's death again still made me tear up (but I'm a female, so I have no problem with admitting to it :P ). Actually, I did trigger that alternative scenario with Conner last week I think when I did Redcliffe again - it was quite wrenching. *wince* I'm at least slightly more sympathetic to Isolde now.

On my first playthrough I was irritated by Morrigan's constant disapprovals of my altruistic ways, but I kept at it, talked to her and gave her gifts, and to my shock she eventually told me she considered me a friend, almost a sister. And then she had to go and tell me that even if she didn't always act like it, she would always value our friendship. I don't know if it was the profound sincerity of the moment or the voice acting or what, but I teared up.

No.

Weird cos I'm a crybaby. The only feelings I felt were "lurve" (the non-real life kind of love) and extreme frustration and anger (at the end). Aside from that, no, no tears. :-)

Yup, will admit that even though I thought Zathrian was a jerk, the sequence where he lifts the curse and the Lady goes had me close to tears. I will admit that thanks to choosing this option on my first playthrough I just find it hard to think of a reason why any of my characters I have played through brescillian with, would kill Witherfang in such a way that Zathrian wanted. I think that is because none of my characters so far though have been of the "Kill the savage beasts (that can talk reasonably)" mentality and whilst the game credits it as siding with the elves, I credit it as siding with both as it gives them both what they truly wanted.

Though the one scene that always gets me even closer is when it comes to the final onslaught speeches from the remaining party members. Some have me nearly tearing up with sadness, some with laughter. Can't really pick out a favourite because all the variations of them I've seen so far have all been well written and voiced superbly (as with all of the lines they have said).

Oh, I second that my friend. I think I find Leliana's little speech the most tear jerking.

You know, times like these I'm glad the internet allows us to let these things out.

My eyes watered up at the end of the Human Noble origin. Probably from watching a computer screen in the dark, or I got a fluid containment issue going on... *sniff* ... I'm all right *sniff* ... Its just allergies...

*runs away to the closet to cry*

In a heroic tearful way

Near the end, back in Denerim... going back into the city. When walking between the 2 lines of cheering soldiers.. cheering you on to end the blight.. very good emotinal scene.

The second time, well, that definitely had me going. This was my first playthrough as a female character and I chose to go with Alistair this time. I supported him as king and denied Morrigan her ritual - I was fully expecting the ultimate sacrifice ending until we finally get to the end and then he immediately throws himself at the Archdemon to save me.

Anyway, there's my admission. Laugh if you will, but make sure you post so I don't feel like too much of a wimp. :pinched:

Yes playing as a female that romanced Alistair and having him sacrifice himself was probably the most heart wrenching scene I have encountered in a video game. Very well done.

1.) The climax of the human noble origin. That was painfully well written, animated and voiceacted.

2.) The "good" resolution of Nature of the Beast, with the final conversation between Zathrian and the Lady, the werewolves' tender goodbyes to her, and both their deaths to break the curse.

3.) Leliana's song afterwards.

4.) The "march on Denerim" cutscene with that solemn epic music and Arl Eamon's narration, followed by Alistair's battle-speech.

5.) Last words with the companuions at the city gates.

6.) The (overall rather happy) epilogue after the ultimate sacrifice. A sober and married Oghren crying as he names his firstborn daughter of my character was the best moment.

Gotta love games that can really affect you emotionally. Even when it's sad. But some of these tears were happy too (especially in the Oghren epilogue).

:crying:

Manly Tears were shed here as well. (Plus a huge amount of not-so-manly ones. What can I say, I'm a big softie.)

The ending, about Morrigan feeling sad and regretful for leaving. That part always gets me.

No. Fun game, well written, but nothing touched me in any way.

playing through the female city elf Origin was pretty emotional, especially when you realise you're too late to save Shiani

His approval was only at 53 (Warm) so it does not need to be very high. I think the key is to back him in his sidequest during the talk with Felsi, so they end up making up and deciding to meet again after the war. The epilogue does not mention her name but my guess is that she is the one he ends up marrying. And my warrior sacrificed herself to destroy the archdemon, which may be a requirement too.

To the OP, awwww *hugs*. No revoking of your license in my opinion. I prefer my men to have a heart.

Now as an empathic and emotional person, I cried all over the place in this game. Bioware really knows how to tug at my heartstrings.

Story wise nothing has brought a tear to the eye. But I do feel ragey-scream due to the traveler achievement not unlocking for my warrior.

-Epilogue, specifically Oghren's portion when he turns his life around and names his child after the PC touching.

-Morrigan saying that even though she may not deserve it she will always value the PC's friendship, it's all in the delivery.

-Saying goodbye to Sten at the final battle "You have brought us this far. Do not doubt that."

Not really in this game. Only characters that really endeared me dropped the ball by railroading themselves into other plots that killed the character. Alistair's childish fit and Morrigan's deal.

They were both characters worth being attached to.  That at their peak suddenly lose all ability to be related to.
