I think it may be because I replayed Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodline right before DA:O, but I felt detached throughout the whole game. The camera angle made me retain my 3rd person perspective, and the voice acting are not quite at the same level as VtMB. The weird accent from Lilienna and Zervann were also quite distracting in the immersion of the whole thing. :/

The ending is still touching for me though, and I really did grow to hate Loghain and the arl of Dennerim. I can definitely see myself getting more emotionally involved if not for the above problems. :/

I definitely teared up when Morrigan admitted she was both my friend and considered herself my sister. That was touching to the extreme. As well as Leliana's song. And the ending, oh the ending.

Tears started rolling when Alistair started yelling at me for not bringing him to redcliffe and got mightily mad when I used blood magic to rescue Connor.

Enchantment?

computer games don't cause me to get emotional (some movies do, however) to the point of shedding tears. But I found Sten's actions at the end of me doing the ultimate sacrifice kind of touching. Or seeing Zevran never love again.

When everyone was saying their goodbyes before you run off to go kill the Archdemon, especially when Alistair says, "And I love you, always" =[ /sniff

My life experiences have left me rather jaded and somewhat desensitized to emotional moments, but every once in awhile a scene touches my heart. I haven't seen some of the emotional scenes in this game yet because I tend to follow a certain path every time. The most moving moment for me was the ending of the curse in the Brecilian forest, but I didn't shed a tear over it.

So far the only game to cause me to choke me up and shed tears is the ending of Dreamfall where Zoë is watching the recording of the little girl's (can't recall her name atm) final moments. Between the music, the scenes, and the female scientist's narration, I was overcome. That it had something to do with a child also contributed, I'm sure. It happens every time I play. So far nothing in DA:O has come close.

Ya, I get choked up every time she talks about being unworthy. Just wanna give her a hug and tell her that she is indeed worthy.

However, I can see that getting me frozen...

Not as much as actually crying but I did definitely feel  like Morrigan kicked my balls just before the battle of Denerim when she told me about the ritual, I became kinda upset but it was touching when she tells you she'll never forget you.

That's the moment in which I felt something likely enough real life emotion while playing the game, and I think it's the very first game that actually affected me in that way, since you spend hours to build up a relationship with a character of your liking, it feels different from reading a book or seeing a film in which the characters are third person and the story is fixed, I think this affects the player more personally so I'm not surprised people can take the characters very seriously and shed a tear for them.

A almost wept when Dog whined after my character refused to take him along for the final battle. For some reason, watching him whine worriedly and imagining my elf telling him in his most stoic voice: "It's too dangerous for you to come with me." made me sob. Quietly. To myself. So that no-one could hear.

I never shed a tear, but I was very close. Even though I never teared up, there were three points in which I was really touched.

- When Duncan is kneeling next to the now dead Cailan, and looks up to see the beacon lit. He now realizes that they are on their own and his death is near. Then when he looks at the Darkspawn running up to deliver the finishing blow. The way he frowned just really hit home for me.

-At the end when I told Alistair that I couldnt let him sacrifice himself. The whole animation of running up to the Archdemon, cutting its throat, and stabbing it in the heart. The bit here was when my character (who I really became attached to) yells before plunging his sword into the Archdemon's head. Really epic and touching.

-The final one is in the epilogue. It says Sten returns home, and when asked if he had met anyone who was worthy/honorful, he replies he had met only one.

No.

I got a little bummed out when Alistair sacrificed himself for my female mage and also when you leave the Couslands in the larder, and the last few seconds of Duncan's life where he realizes what's happened and the axe falls but nothing close to crying.

Everything else I felt terribly guilty about and had to reload. This includes stuff like killing Connor, dog, shale, Lel, Wynne, leaving Redcliffe to the siege. Basically I can't play an evil game no matter how hard I try. I felt bad playing a renegade in ME but nowhere near as bad as I feel playing a dick in DA.

I'm so sad to say no, no tears. And I'm a big softie for a sad movie or book or game (the beginning of Up had me in floods of tears...)

The werewolf/elf thing had me tearing up, especially the way all the werewolves reach out to the Lady of the Forest before she disappears. Shale's whole conversation with Caridin at the Anvil of the Void was also very touching, surprisingly so.

That time when Oghren cut a silent fart in front of Leliana, I laughed so hard I think I cried.

I don't know if that's quite what you were asking for, though.

Most of the alienage and Dust Town in Orzamar. The developers did it very well: both felt misserable, neglected and hopeless.

Morrigan had also some very little touching moments, such as her fantasizing about the mirror and having the possibility of a different childhood or in the last stages of the romance, when she looks absolutely confused and struggling.

When they released the Marbari hounds at Ostagar.

I didn't cry, but I felt sad, that dogs are so loyal even to the point of death. I wondered if the dogs even knew they were sent to their deaths. Most likely because Marbari dogs are said to be as intelligent as your average tax collectors.

No tears but the last talk with Morrigain and Leliana's song in the camp were very touching.

The last scene with the wolf and zathrian was beautiful too.

Oh well, I've laughed to cry with the last "enchantment" line from Sandal in Fort Drakoon but I do not think that it counts :).

1.) The climax of the human noble origin. That was painfully well written, animated and voiceacted.

Not so much tears, but this part definitely made my eyes itch - more so than any other part of the game really. The whole lines and everything; though pretty much playing stereotype straight, seeing my character tell her father "You can tell him yourself."  even as she saw him bleeding to death in front of her was just heartwretching.

Human noble: leaving mom and dad knowing, they'll get owned ... :(

Also, there was this very special situation with Leliana singing in the camp - I had a few quite dark converations with some NPCs and then her song ... this really created a very dark and hopeless situation... somehow ... well ... too bad there are not more of these moments (very well done).

First playthrough, Leliana's song had me tearing up. Being dumped by Alistair was a knife through the heart and the whole finale - battle speeches, final moments with companions, Alistairs sacrifice - meant I spent the last 3 hours playing DA:O through tears.

On subsequent playthroughs, now knowing all the characters, the battle at Ostagar is particularly heart-wrenching. Despite my fore-knowledge, it makes me weep a little every time. I've come to the decision that when Ostagar no longer touches me in the same way, it will be time to put the (OC) game away for a year or two.

While I never actually shed tears... there were several parts where I was moved... deeply.

1. Human Noble ending. It seemed to real, the acting was excellent and conveyed the emotion perfectly.

2. When my Dalish elf met Tamlen again after he had become a ghoul. I wasn't expecting to ever see him again, but there he was, dying and there was nothing I could do but end it for him. I actually had to stop playing for a bit after that part.

Stupid Sten. What are my other companions? Decorations?
They are ALL better than you Sten, you hear that?
