We've been over this a million times. It's ex Cerberus.

No. Why would ex Cerberus be Vanguards and Adepts? Definitely Protheans.

Although I'm not sure I agree it's Cerberus, this wouldn't debunk the idea. Cerberus has been known to tinker in biotics.

Cerberus created human biotics...

Thank you.

Edit: Wait. Wasn't the Ascention Project?

Edit: Don't want to get too technical, but I think it was the Ascension Project and before that it was the BAaT Program.

Jack, (The illusive man) created a few, "Accidents" and had ezzo dumped on three different locations to create the first human biotics.

Protheans. Phoenix just seems to fit them.

Yeah, in the ME universe post-ME1 you can pretty much assume that anything significant that has ever occurred in human history has been retconned to have taken place because of Cerberus and TIM.

Anyone see those small black dots on the horizon, or hear those whirring blades?

Prothean ability files in MP with the last update and the obvious "Phoenix" . We got a lot of discussions in petition threads which the prothean supporters won due to a lot of good arguements.

Ex-Cerberus doesnt make sense, as if it was a special biotic program which would and should be important to Cerberus, they would most likely put the boom-implants in their faces before all other assets

Female turian adepts.
We hear about female turians and turian adepts, they would already logically be joining the fight from single player, and they are an easily programmed form, that could be based on existing models. With the addition of male quarians, female turians seems a natural conclusion.
Also, turians were inspired by raptors, with avian crests and small forward facing eyes. So what do you get when you cross a bird of prey with biotics? Pheonix. Turian biotic specialists. And female for fan service.

Also a possibilty, there's just so much evidence out there backing up different characters, that it's hard to know just what the Phoenix is going to be. I'm leaning more towards Protheans, but there's been no statements or anything hinting towards them. There's been hinting at Cerberus, but adepts and vanguards? I would have thought without a doubt it was Cerberus if it were soliders and engineers.

I'm up for the cerberus defectors too but I reckon Protheans purely because of the reluctance to name the species even in the PSN store
Leak of the codename gets the SPECULATION FOR EVERYONE hype whilst getting the lore ragers used to the idea
I mean they'll get mad anyway but they're softened up a bit

It's probably Protheans somehow. I'm just guessing, but the name of the Javik DLC is "From Ashes" which is typically a phrase used to describe how a Phoenix is born. They will probably say that they grew them in a tank somewhere like Grunt, or they found a hidden stash of them.

So im not the only one who has watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets am I??

I ignored the back from the dead symbolism because people have been focused on it to the point of ignoring more valid possibilties.
Even if fans disagree, bioware feels the mp reflects the sp experience, and so i don't see raloi, protheans, or de-zombified cerberus being brought to the mp without a single player dlc to explain thier presence. Turian female adepts are new to players, but require no special explanation as to how they ended up fighting in the n7 ops.
I could see new more effective humans too as they are not looked at fondly, especially the human adept. But that sounds incredibly boring,

Knowing BioWare is very lazy / cheap, its going to be something already present in ME3 (they wont do new character models).and it uses humanoid skeleton (they wont do new animations). I think that leaves us with Protheans and ex-Cerberus.

Yeah, I could see ex-cerberus in a broader escaped scientist sense. It just seems like there would not be a uniform class of troops since agents and scientists would all be unique, and the actual military wing of cerberus is all brainwashed.
I'm gonna keep saying turian females, for the feeling of superiority i will get if I am right, especially as no one else seems to be putting the theory forward.

Yeah, bioware the company known for sprawling, fully voice acted RPGs of unparalleled epic scale is pretty lazy. When are they gonna get off thier asses and do something?
The reality is that there are probably limitations to what dlc can put into the game, so I doubt we will see anything non-humanoid.

I bet it's a set of different looking characters that have abilities with different names that basically do what existing powers already do. Their animations will look different. I'm not trying to be too optimistic here. High expectations only lead to disappointment and I don't think Bioware's gonna reinvent the wheel on this stuff. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it won't add some variety or new "strategeries", but I don't expect it will be all that different from what we already have.

if so

wouldn't that......be kinda weird. IMO - seems it would break the story "lore"

unless I'm wrong on this: only Javik was the only Prothean. Can't see how any other survived.

I find this line of argument unconvincing.  Didn't Javik himself completely shatter the lore?  For the last two games, Protheans were extinct for 50,000 years.  Can't see how any of them survived.

I get where people are coming from when they say this, but Bioware hasn't seemed particularly concerned with keeping lore intact.

Protheans make a lot of sense.

That's why I'm guessing Hanar.
