Speak about yourself. Adept is my favourite class and I would love to try out a new character with some new abilities. On the other hand, I hate playing as an infiltrator, so what, we really don't need more infiltrators?

It's probably Protheans somehow. I'm just guessing, but the name of the Javik DLC is "From Ashes" which is typically a phrase used to describe how a Phoenix is born. They will probably say that they grew them in a tank somewhere like Grunt, or they found a hidden stash of them.

Just to add on, I do believe Javik might not be the only batch of Prothean's being in Stasis. Javik himself would not have any idea of other Prothean's being in Stasis elsewhere. And the only reason Javik is the last, living Prothean is only because he's the latest one to be found alive.

Whatever, new content is appreciated. I'd rather see new enemies and new game modes than new guns and characters, but I guess that isn't as likely to happen as those don't drop from packs... ergo, no revenue for putting them in.

Also, is there any word on whether or not this DLC will be free? If it's not free you can count me out actually. Especially considering it's the same amount of content as the last free MP DLC.

I don't know if you noticed this but all classes have the same amount of characters, except the soldier who has one extra (Battlefield 3 soldier).

+1 vote for Protheans. I don't care how they justify it, heck let them announce they're severing all ties of lore between SP and MP an just go nuts making MP more interesting without worrying about explaining everything.

As long as they have have Javik's accent, I don't really care, just picture him yelling "PRIMITIVES EVERYWHERE!!"

Well, Bioware has stated in somewhat ambiguous terms that "rebellion" isn't due to be released, which means...????

But a Phoenix is a mythical bird that rises from the ashes to live again. It could mean many things, but it may be what Shepard really is. Or a new race altogether. It's hard to see it being the Protheans, because the only one that remained was Javik and once he's gone, they're gone.

I like Javik, but I don't see the Protheans as any great race of people-they were slavers, as brutal as the Roman Empire. And they were actually great scavengers, not necessarily great independent scientists and technologists.

I wouldn't mind a Prothean character in MP, but don't see them as fitting the Phoenix mold.

"From ashes"... wasn't that the name of the D1 DLC? Then again, the Phoenix combusts itself in flames. That's pretty much what I had to do to Shepard in the end ('cept for the red ending).

my first thought is protheans.(which i really hope for because of the particle rifle and dark channel. but they would have to explain it somehow in single player)
my second thought is ex-cerberus (which would be good also.... just not as good as protheans... this would require little to no explanation in singleplayer)
i really hope that its prothean so i can finally get my particle rifle...

shepard is technically ex ceberus and i never heard of him being a phoenix?
why not just call it protheon if it is a protheon? i mean its not like they hid the geth, vorcha, or bartarian?

What does this have to do with the IT?  The Phoenix is a mythological beast that has been around for ages.  Anytime anybody references what makes a Phoenix special, they talk about how he rises from the ashes to be reborn.  That's what a Phoenix IS.  Not sure why you are connecting it the IT....

I don't believe in IT, but I do believe Phoenix could be prothean because of that "From Ashes" connection. Have you never heard of the quote "Rise from the ashes of the Phoenix" ??
