I don't mind EDI's new body, but EVA, I think, would have made a better adversary.

What makes you think EVA would be any better than Leng?
Just from the brief encounter we had with her, her kung fu moves on Ash/Kaiden, her speed and agility, her cold query to TIM before mashing Ash/Kaiden's face into the shuttle, seemed interesting. I didn't personally find Leng that interesting myself.

EVA would have at least presented a reason to dislike synthetics and to validate why synthetics will always be dangerous and rise up against their creators. Our examples of synthetics are EDI and the Geth and they come out innocent victims of their creators. Not rebellious threats that think they are superior to their creators.

Indeed. There were a couple of things they could have done to make him a genuinely threatening villain:Lucky Thirteen wrote...
I like the idea of EVA replacing him. She does seem a lot more cold and menacing for that short period of time we see her. Leng is just a 12-year-old boy that needs to get off Xbox live and go to bed. He hardly feels like a threat. He's just an annoyance.
1) No. Goddamn. Backup. Dude's supposed to be a one-man-army assassin in the likes of Altaïr and Ezio. Show it, BioWare.
2) Fewer lines, and if he's saying something, he needs to sound like a professional and not a butthurt douchebag crying over getting his kills stolen in MW3.
3) He needs to respect Shepard and Shepard's abilities - after all, this is f***ing Shepard we're talking about. Even TIM respects Shepard.

I am not sure if the last one would be necessary. Having him be cocky and overconfident in his skills and mocking of Shepard could work as long as he was presented as being highly competent and skilled.
I agree with the two former.

I really like this idea....admittedly I fell into the 'wanting EDI to stay just the ship' camp. But, she could have been a nice representation, like you stated.

Even with EVA as a villian, the problem with using her as an example of synthetics rising up against their creators would be that, if she still worked for Cerberus, she wouldn't exactly be rising up agianst her creators. She'd be doing their bidding.
Unless she turned on Cerberus, stayed hostile to Shepard, and just decided to get into the game herself.

Eva was OK. And it could be nice if we could make her to be on our side.
For me Edi stopped existing after that donwload.

Well... actually...
Could have really used Miranda more than EDI. My canon Shepard is a soldier who saved Ash. He suffered from a severe lack of squadmates with a biotic/tech combo.
Would have been nice if folks who didn't have Kaidan around at least had the opportunity to bring Miranda on board. Maybe the opportunity to convince her when you first meet, so you get her as a squad mate instead of a war asset. Her arguments for not coming are less than convincing. She'd have been safer on the Normandy than anywhere else in the galaxy, probably, and she could continue working to help her sister from the ship. Hell, between having easy access to EDI, Traynor, and the Shadow Broker, it might have even been easier for her.

I was thinking that but only much later in the game she would turn on Cerberus. She'd be the reason TIM would have to abandon ship before Shepard shows up. Then when TIM catch's Shepard in his chair, he can be like, lol have fun with EVA, I've lost control of it like I do with everything. Then epic boss fight against EVA and a bunch of synthetics.

EDI with body was one of the worst ideas ever and Kai Leng is the most bland enemy in the whole ME franchise.
