Of course, trying to account for all the variable I'd prefer is what led me to my 100 page monster, and even THAT didn't address EVERYTHING.
Still, all this fan-dedication allows me a measure of peace, allows me to see BW's endings as simply one of many possibilities.
Somehow, I can't help but feel upset that I don't consider the "official" endings as canon...as competent as EC was, comparatively speaking.

That was a good read! It's nice to see another branching path storyline, as it lends validity to earlier choices made in the series, something with simple "clarity and closure" just can't appropriately fulfill.

As far as I am concerned, with the EC, even though IT is unchanged, it's fanservice.
The EC is fanservice to calm the natives.
Bioware was losing populariy for the endings and such and alot of casual gamers and non indoctrinationist fans get upset (hell even I was pretty upset) so they make up something just as weird and with as many contradictions and plotholes (HARBINGER: Oh you go ahead and say goodbye, I'll just wait here.) while giving some rather shallow fuilfillment, as well as satisfying others with the Refuse option.
It was unplanned, it's fanservice plain and simple. Bioware throwing the community a bone while we wait.
I'm actually working on another script now for a proposed DLC. If Bioware is going to reveal IT now as far as I am concerned, it'll be via flashback, hallucinations and yet more creepy dream sequences.
