Yup, been busy :)

I'll credit Paganini for sure...

I'm definatly releasing these for community when finished (and once the vault is updating again)

I was going to quote comment to include the image I wanted to talk about, but I realized I wanted to comment on too many at once...

The clowns... super creepy.

The bugbear, orc, and undead heads... I am blown away at how good those look. Starting with good models helps, but the level of customization that you have with them now, makes for some fun possibilities.

For me, placing encounters and other monsters and npcs has always been one of the least interesting parts of the build cycle, but using reheaded npcs as monsters to customize or randomize armors with an onspawn script is making it sound a lot more interesting.


I keep comparing these to the original models that used unique phenos that didn't normally support standard armor types, and am baffled by the developers choice not to go the route you have so clearly demonstrated is reasonably easy for a skilled modeler.

I played around trying this a bit, making a human head out of Sixes' demilich.  Cleaning the plt up to make distinct layers is harder than I expected.  Manually positioning the head was easier.
  Not perfect by any means, but this is what I ended up with for the test.  Bones are skin, teeth and the gems hair, eyes tattoo1, and the lettering tattoo 2.

Very Nice!

The PLT work is the most time consuming part for sure. The right set of custom Binary Brushes can really make a huge differance BTW...

I made a few simple ones like cross, circle, diamond and squares, up to 128, which i can upload if anyone wants them :)

Hope this can be made CEP/Mod D20 compatible, but not sure on what the limit is for heads in 2da files. Seem to recall this has already been a factor for those who've made head packs in the past.

lovely new critters you added there. The psurlons and mezoloths are just perfect for strange encounters/ meetings of unique npcs. Outstanding work on everything carcerian :)

As parts_head.2da doesnt exist there is no limit :)

There IS a limit of on what the client and toolset will allow you to select, 200.

Any heads 200 or below may be selected in toolset or character design. Any heads numbered above 200 can only be selected by script (perfect for "subrace/dm only heads". Such heads may still be used by monster spawns, you just have to make an onspawn script that changes thier head to what you want it to be by using getlocalint for your head info. PCs can still use as well if you have player customisation systems, allowing control over what  subraces have access to what heads.

One cool on-Spawn script possibility is to say, take all monsters with an orc appearance, change them to human/half-orc, give them an orc head, and color and rename based on tileset used, Arctic Orcs for cold tilesets, Deep Orcs for dungeons and underdark tilesets, randomise thier gear based on class, and suprising all your vet players who "know" what an orc has :)

Such stock monsters could be used with much more variety built in, requiring far fewer
server resources while providing a much larger variety of spawns in your encounters...

I have a PW customiser that could be adaped pretty easy, i'll use it as the base for the demo :)

169+SoU+Hotu, CEP v2.1 & CEP v2.2 Persistant World Character Customizers (for PCs and DMs)

Thx for reminding me, I need to check and see if i need to update it for any new CEP2.3 and 2.4 content.

For Heads it should be perfectly fine, as no 2da update is needed for new heads :)

Hmmm, that mask pic got me inspired, so I'm going to try and make my first plt from scratch.

Decided on a female vampire from Monsterpalooza, using the yuanti head for a mdl.

Yes, and No :)

Yes it's possible, technicly those would be masks (of the kinaar greycloak variety), and no, they really dont make things any easier than proper heads would, although I think converting a head to a helmet or vice-versa would probably just be a matter of changing file name references. So yes, you could have one, the other or even both varieties. (Great for player disguises)

Edit: This was explored more in detail, plt work is required, but yes its possible.
