randoms that don't medi-gel

What wave is it? Is there an objective? Does the team need you up right now? Could you bleed out without hurting anyone? Are you close to your teammates? Can you expect someone to revive you soon? Are you about to get stomped? Is what killed you still around?
In general, I'm more irritated by randoms that use gel as soon as they fall. As an infiltrator, I can typically revive someone even if they're across the map. If they do it once, I'll just get on the mic and tell them that I'll revive them if I'm able.

God tier or s/'s+ tier. Every good fighting game has this, dont know where you have been in the PS2 tekken ave's and PS3 start with tekken 5 (correct me if wrong, i lost THE count) or the mortal combat tournaments which started on the damn snes with tiers... Doa 4 had tiers (heck every doa i played had GOD tiers)

no excuse anymore. there's these things called jumbo equipment packs. they're awesome.
But you are still limited to five for a mission. And using them in a hot zone as you are suggesting is wasting them. You have only a small chance to escape.
There is this other thread telling you to take note of what got your mate down. And you shall not rush toward a dying mate without taking notice what is around him. You have to clean the place so it is safe for your mate to recover. No other solution makes sense. Better finish the wave with three than let that one phantom wipe your team.

Whether you should gel or not is based on a number of factors.

(1) Yes you should use good judgement when to use medi-gel. If you are a good team player one of them should NOT be "this team is not very good, so I'm saving it for the next match"
(2) randoms using medigel too fast - they probably have had bad experiences with nobody reviving them. Its kinda a pain when you just zipped halfway across the map to get to them - if they don't have a mic they can't see you moving toward them.

Something to consider, however, is what that PUG's random's medigel capacity is. It could be +2, +3, +4 or +5. Maybe they have just +2 and are saving it for the later waves. If you don't communicate via mics (always a good idea), you'll never know.
If everyone's medigels or other consumables are all used by Wave 6, the team is likely going to have a tough time completing the mission. Knowing when to use them and when to hold them is something that takes lots of playing time (or lots of time reading forum posts!) to develop a good consumable-use strategy.

Looks like the jumbo eq pack is here for a while, but that could change at any moment if some one on the bioware team suddenly decides it doesn't need to be.

Darn it. Misread the thread subject line. I thought it was to complain about packs not giving medi-gels. That's why I'm always low. I have nearly 300 ammo packs and 200 rockets...because that's what I seem to get in 90% of the packs I buy. Even with the JEP, I typically only get 5 medi-gel and duplicates of ammo or rocket packs. Really wish the "store" was a real store instead of a mystery box dispensary.
< Edit: they also said the Jumbo pack was permanent. >
Yes, but they just changed the store. You are capped on rockets, medigel, ammo packs, survival packs at 255 each. Even if you had 300 when you quit it would only give you 255 the next time you signon.
What the new store feature does it not give you any more of something you have maxed at 255. So if you keep on buying Jumbo packs you will get those other things. I just spend 500,000 credits on Jumbo packs and was able to get a lot of ammo mods once I had those four things maxed out.

o yea. There was this perfect example last night. I had a random on my team, abzy389259orwhatever. Dunno if he posts here. Anyways, we ran like 6 or 7 gold matches. Every one of them went to extract, some full extract, except for one (Reapers/White). In that whole time, even though he died ALL THE TIME, and bled out like every second Wave, he never used medi-gel, and he used ONE rocket in our last match. ONE. That's a leecher. He gained around half a million creds just playing with me, and couldn't spend 33,000 on one jumbo equipment pack? No excuses.
Again, if you play PUG's, get used to it.

sometimes this happens when they see a geth or cerberus trooper about to smash them to dead..

What about the non randomers that medi gel in bronze 1 second after dying next to a teammate
I would rather they get into the habit of medi-gelling than not, tbh.

myself im not good enough to carry randoms threw gold so if im playing with all pugs im not using any consumibles just because im assuming we gonna fail anyways.
Self-fulfilling propecy. You will fail because you expect to fail.
Go in with equipment loaded ready to kick ass not accepting failure and suddenly you will have many more succesfull pugs. It only really takes two fairly competent players and two non-leechers to do gold. Or just one amazing player. You only need to make wave 6 objective to have a jumbo full of equipment.
Often when people see me using a rocket to get us out of a tricky situation suddenly there is a lot more rockets flying in the following rounds leading to more succesfull games.

I agree with the other posters on there being no excuse for being out of medigel now that the JEP is a permanent addition to the store.

If somebodys gel capacity is only +2, +3, or +4 they should level up their N7 rating with bronze. And stay away from silver and gold. It doesn't take that long. A week or two is all it took me. Why should we waste our ops survival packs reviving these idiots that usually get killed in no mans land, out of cover? Yeah, most of the time those revives we do, cost some of us ops survival packs because we have to run into a group of pyros or mauraders to pick their sorry a#$%^ up....I have pleanty of gel, but not a lot of those packs.

I'd rather have the chance to get a new weapon and maybe equipment than spend creds on just equipment.Disciple888 wrote...
