Lol @ OP. BSN really has these overly dramatic crybabies, maybe they're all gathered here.

The game was great, especially when it's been quite awhile since the last one I didn't think it would need that many new things. I thought it's pretty fun game and it offers a nice challenge at harder difficulties. Diablos have never been for everyone, I think most of the people who used to love the old games, just have grown over to become different kind of gamers.

No drama necessary tbh. The game is great and it seems to have sold great. Go play a different game.

Aren't you the same person who said that you were looking forward to Max Payne 3 failing because Remedy wasn't making it?
Oh right no drama?

BSN is also full of people who love to whine about people who love to whine.

Its also full of people who like to point out people who are pointing out people who are whining, like myself...

Its like standing in front of a mirror reflection, it keeps going on forever...

I got the dreaded 3006 error where my game wouldn't go through the loading screen in a public game, so I alt+F4 and now I can't login. My character is still idle, as friends are telling me but I'm locked out permanently until Blizzard fixes this...

I'm going to offer a moderately dissenting opinion. I actually thoroughly enjoyed D3. I am extraordinarily cross at Blizzard for the system that they've propped up, but at the same time, the expanded multiplayer options are really more more fun than the lost single-player functionality. I like the party dynamic in a hack and slash, especially over Vent with friends.

"Pre-load this game so that you can get locked out of the servers on launch day" was still a massive load of horse****, though. Especially when you consider that they'd already have the same things happen in Asia and Europe and made no changes for the U.S. launch. Pathetic, honestly.

I find the notion that this is the "future of gaming" to be a little less than substantive at this point, though. Blizzard is pretty much sliding downhill in terms of PC gaming clout, being fast eclipsed by Valve and others. Also, it's worth mentioning that even companies with a great track record in terms of customer service have done some pretty terrible things. CDPR, for example, sent out letters to try and illegally extort money from people that it believed had pirated the game, but had no actual proof against.

Am I pissed about some of the Diablo features? Yeah. The always-online crap can DIAF. But, the terrible writing and story are pretty much what I expect from a dungeon-crawler. It's about as old-school as it gets. And despite the negatives, it's still a damn good game. I'd feel a lot less forgiving if the game wasn't any fun, but it is. Plus, Blizzard still has the chance to pull one of their now-famous awesome PR stunts/events to try and get some goodwill back. I'll give them a couple weeks before rendering a final verdict.

You talk about innovation on a Bioware forum? You must be lost.

D3 easily has more innovation than any of BW's recent games combined.

Diablo 3 its just a new case off different gamers, different opinions.

I really love it, but its somehow a game made for me and I can understand people thinking different.

-Always online play is a feature I Iike if it really prevents duping etc. When the D3 servers where down the first time I was angry too because off the lack of offline game, then I realized that even if it had offline play, I wouldn't do it but wait for the serves to be online again. A game like D3 need's a trainer free environment to be enjoyable after the first playthrough for me. D2 I only played once single player and then always closed bnet. Also well, D3 is the fastest selling PC game of all times, I guess most (all) companies would have had problems with their servers at first.

-The story isn't any worse than that of recent Bioware games imho. It just isn't the type of game that presents it that detailed to get you involved like say parts of ME3. Also it's reasonably well built upon the books (sin wars trilogy?) and the first two games. The only bend thing I found was the human identity of Leah's father. And 5 Evils should have been gone for good after all. The BS might be a plot device, but I've seen far worse ("Hello, I'm the Cruicible and who are you?" "Oh, I'm the Catalyst!").

-I also just like the game play. Some people say its repetitive but show me a game that isn't, and D3 has random elements. ME3's only really random element is the quality of your group members in multiplayer. In the end it's just if you like such combat or not.

PS.: I only mentioned ME3 that often because it's the latest Bioware game and this is a Bioware forum after all.

The game isn't bad per se, but it is so utterly lacking in innovation its a joke.

This. Blizzard should include a recycling symbol in their logo because that's how much they do that. I don't think a lot of fans even realize just how much of D3 is recycled.

Act 1 = Diablo 2 Act 1 basically. Complete with darkish countryside scenes, moon clans and quill beasts. End boss is the Butcher. Now who was that guy I killed in Diablo 1 who looked like an evil bloated demon? Hmm....

Act 2 = Diablo 2 Act 2 basically. Complete with Lut Gholein mark 2, feline like humanoids that throw bombs, flying eagle monsters and maggot lairs. And the quest to bring back that Mokolele guy? Horadric Cube, Staff of Kings, Maggot Lair on the Far Oasis and the Arcane Sanctuary with the Summoner anyone?

Act 3 = Demons coming from Arreat. Orly? Didn't I just work my ass up there to kick Bhaal's ass in Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction expansion pack?

Oh well, at least they skipped that hellish jungle place. I hated it. Yes, it's a decent game. Yes, thousands of people will still buy it and love it. Why? Because people allow Blizzard to keep doing this by supporting them blindly due to their "quality products". I personally wish I could get my 60 euros back. Replaying D2 would've been a richer experience.

For anyone interested, I've researched some Inferno-tier builds for diablo 3.

Demon Hunter
tank shots with smoke screen and use preparation to regen discipline for smoke screen. Use caltrops so u dont get rushed, impale to stun bosses and spam multishot for AoE
1st passive is to give entangled shot a bit more kick, 2nd is to increase discipline regen via crit chance, and 3rd passive is to increase crit chance with Duelwield crossbows

Wizard
reduce your chance of being 1-shotted with energy armor and tank pure damage with diamond skin, DoT with blizzard and Venom Hydra and play keep-away til mob is dead. Buff with the magic weapon and do normal attacks with the electric sphere thing.
Blur is so u take less damage, the 2nd passive is so ur normal attack can stun, and the last passive is so u regen health while energy armor is up.

Witch Doctor
Cast Haunt and Spam the hell out of direbats.
regen mana with spirit walk, get a damage buff with soul harvest once uve got some kills.
mass confusion and voodoo are your debuff and partybuff respectively.
first passive is so you regen more mana while your spells are cooling down. Use spirit walk last for even more mana regen so u can spam direbats more. 2nd passive is damage buff, 3rd is cooldown reduction and second-life perk.

Man, cant wait to pick this up next week. Hopefully the issues should be gone by then.
EDIT: Heres something for creating builds to help you guys.
-As far as I can tell, a good build in ANY rpg needs 3 basic things: a Spike, a CC, and a Shield.
A Spike is a skill that does massive damage to a single target, like the witch doctor's Direbats.
A CC or "crowd-control" is an area-of-effect skill that handles mobs, like the Demon Hunter's Caltrops.
A Shield is a skill that mitigates or flat-out negates damage, like the Wizard's Diamond skin.

Witch Doctor

I simply get my 4 skill on CD for vision quest adn then spam Zombie bears like mad. You can use Dire bats(or Swarm) instead of bears too. Soloed Act 2 with that build now half way Act 3.

I pretty much hate what they did with Butcher in D3. The character model is so overdesigned, they weren't happy with the gorilla sized demon with an intimidating presence and an effective cleaver, nooooo, they had to make him 10 times bigger, create him from pieces of other demons, give him a fancy cleaver and a chain like some other monsters I can think of... Patchwerk from WoW or Abomination from WC3 ringing any bells?

It's not drama, it's just me being right as usual. Rockstar hasn't made a single game that I've liked in years. Remedy has and Max Payne is their game, Rockstar just pokes around where it shouldn't.

There's no point arguing over it, I know I am right.

Boss fights sucked in D3 IMO.

I had WoW in my mind in every boss fight in D3. Any WoW player (or any MMO player I guess) should feel right at home. Easy phase first. Then one or two harder ones. Bosses have adds and/or special don't-stand-in-fire abilities.

Unfortunately, unlike the MMOs I have played, there are flaws in D3's mechanics that make the boss fights more annyoing. For example, in one case I died three times because I accidentally clicked a part of the boss (this particular boss was all over the screen) and my character decided to shoot the boss instead of moving out of an instant kill ability.

Then again, my demon hunter was super squishy because I only really found completely crap gear. Thus I could choose between barely doing any damage and being super squishy.

Im with you on this one, boss design (even Diablo) and boss battles just plain suck in D3.
I only liked Lust Demon and Kulle.
Many normal mob design is years ahead of bosses...

Indeed. In addition Azmodan was practically Duriel. In Act 3 there were spiky monsters who lunged their tentacles through the ground. Again, an exact copy of Lord of Destruction mobs. Inside the towers, there were winged she-demons shooting energy balls, which I can recognize from Bhaal's stronghold, also from LoD. Then when Diablo finally emerges, she has Deathwing's head.

Oh and here's an interesting quote from Diablo 2 : Lord of Destruction quest Journal:

Siege on Harrogath

Harrogath is under siege by Baal's demons. If you wish to make good on your promise and
prove yourself to Larzuk and the others bring those infernal catapults to a halt.
They are threatening to bring down the very walls around us.
