...the gaming media are going to poop on anyone who complains, sadly.

Why? Because anyone who is upset at the EC will look like a spoilt little brat, whining to mommy because he didn't get the christmas present he asked for.

They are going to be portrayed as a right dudley dursely and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

God, I hope the EC rocks, I couldn't stand more video game critics being condescending to ME fans, the lack of research or understanding of the issue is depressing.

I fully expect, and hope the EC will be good. I'm betting that it will be awesome. I just dread the potential articles that would come from a failure state - again, I think the EC will probably be good because there are a lot of things under wraps and no doubt we will all be surprised.

I hear you, but watch out. Chris might lock your thread "due to excessive negativity". Looks like we're only supposed to think positive things about what they're doing. :P

It will most likely fail though, because the fan expectation is high and there has been little to no communication between the consumer and service provider. Plus, artistic integrity. That one never gets old. :P

Logic dictates that a 10-minute video clip, which changes nothing of the original ending, is highly unlikely to "rock"

We'll see, I get the feeling it's going to be way more substantial.

If you are correct however, god help us all

? I've talked to the mods before and provided you are cordial and receptive to differing opinions they have no problems. At least thats what I was told.

I did say "highly unlikely", did I not? Calculating probability does not involve deities.

to be fair though fans were labeled that basicly because alot of disgusting things were stated

that imopo is why gaming sites and media  even myself attacked the take back movment as a whole

if the new ec dlc dosent satisfy people ( and bioware even stated some fans may not be happy) those fans need to watch what they say because it takes one idiot to say something idiotic wich will affect others who dont share his or her statement

i mean cmon going to the ftc over a game is extreme dont you think?

We need to face the fact that Casey Hudson has stated the Extended Cut will clarify the ending.

clar·i·fy [klar-uh-fahy] verb, clar·i·fied, clar·i·fy·ing.

1.to make (an idea, statement, etc.) clear or intelligible; to free from ambiguity.

His statement makes it very clear that Bioware are not changing the ending; they're explaining it. I wish them the very best in doing that, becasue even the most devout fans can't explain the nonsense which we currently have as an ending. The very best fans have been able to do is to disregard the ending as "it was all a dream" (See Indoctrination Theroy) which is sad - to think the ending we got was in fact so terrible people wish it never happened and look for ways to explain how it might not have.

All things considered, it's probably best just to leave it as it is. Let go. Let it rest in peace.

I like your enthusiasm but I wouldn't purchase a lottery ticket with these odds if I were you.

If he gave his mom 80-150 dollars for that specific present and got something else than he paid for, then his whining is completely justified.

Gaming is an investment business, not a f***ing charity where you just take what you get and be happy with it.

Like most I really, really want the EC to be successful. However, if the EC fails, the ME franchise is dead. No more DLC, no more games, nothing.

Truthfully, by the time it comes out, I don't think anybody will care.

The media may bring it up once or twice that week, but I'm not sure any reaction (negative or positive) is going to be newsworthy.

As far as being hostile toward the players, that's already been done. There's not much worse they can do.

Considering that they have already made most to look like spoiled brats already, it won't make much of a difference.

Shhh, threads don't get locked only "due to excessive negativity", you're making things up here. They get locked "due to excessive negativity and profanity". And I can fully understand that. I mean, seriously, there was one user who used the word "horse****".

You have to draw a line somewhere. Image IPB

I'm just hoping that someone realises the obvious, that if the EC just gives people more of what made them upset to begin with it'll have achieved nothing for either the players or BioWare. Surely they wouldn't be that daft...?

If people have properly stated reasons for not liking it (EG, lore or conitinuity errors) then it is complaining and complaining is justified.

True, but I doubt it'll fail. I think they know that they have to take this seriously.

There are lots of threads like this that haven't been closed by the moderators.

Threads get closed if they decend into a personal attack on the staff at Bioware.
If it's constructive criticism, it doesn't get locked.
Keep this thread clean and you have nothing to worry about.
Sadly that doesn't just depend on you, it depends on all of us.

Logic dictates that a DLC this long in the making wouldn't just add a 10 minute video clip :P

Frankly in light of  the pre-release "communication", I would rather Mike Gamble and the PR machine keep quiet. I would rather silence than an another over sell campaign of pushing information they patently know (or should know) is false.  Just release the EC and let the chips fall where they may.

I hope the EC gives us an ending but again like others, I hold out little hope since BioWare leaped on the "Artistic Integrity" defense the gaming press held out.  That and because I feel the word "clarify" has been used like a blugeon in official BioWare communications, I fee the EC may turn out to be RGB "endings" but louder, slower, and using smaller words.
