People who run back and forth reviving teammates usually don't get the top position. Can't say I really mind anyhow, still get plenty of experience and some spending credits for some new gear. Still having fun.

I don't care about the score too much really, however if I'm not getting any kills at all I get rather bored-so I don't want to fall asleep mid-match. Let me shoot something darn it! :P

If someone whips out two level X Ultra Rares and is N7 3,000 and talks trash in the lobby saying everyone needs to "get on his level" (To which I reply "Challenge Accepted! Geth on my level!") I barely even have to try to outscore them.

It happens naturally!

However, when I am playing with friends I could care less about score most of the time, but deep inside I have to beat them every time.

Randoms I only check the scoreboard after waves 6 & 10 to see how little the other people contribute to winning the match. When each guy has a 25k gap between them and you have a 50k+ lead on the 2nd place guy, there is a huge problem.

Yes, yes I do.

And that makes me a horrible person.

That said, I'll never sacrifice a chance to further the mission goals just to score a few more kills.

Pshaw, good players 4 digit N7's are exceedingly rare anyways XD

As for the main question, being #1 is something I usually try to go for.
It depends on the situation.

If I'm with a lot of friends I normally play with, I don't really care and I just try to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves, including myself. Usually this means strategy/game discussions since that's what I'm into :P.

if it's with pubs, I don't really care anymore. I haven't been outscored by pubs in, well ever. There's no real need to try.

If it's a new friend I haven't played with much, or someone from legion effect, I try pretty hard to get #1.
Although I never cross the line where I stop doing objectives and rezzes or whatever.
Winning will means they will never be able to pull the "oh you just suck at this game" card on me when I say something about game strategy :P

I could care less, I'm always on the top of the board. And if I'm not, about time another player as good as me or better so I can stop pulling the weight of 3 freaking players all the time every game I play.

I could care less. I tend to play supportive roles to cover the other three idiots all competing for #1

No not really but I get frustrated when the number 1 scorer has significantly higher points than me. I just feel like I'm doing something wrong. Except of course when I'm using QI, I intentionally get the lowest score.

Nope. The end of the game is getting out alive, if I know I'm pulling my weight with the team than all is good for me.

Being #1 on the scoreboard? Nah. I just want to make it through wave 10 and get my credits. Why be #1 if it causes the team to wipe out before completing wave 10, or worse yet, not even get out of wave 6? Nothing makes me rage quit more than some dope who doesn't run objectives or come to the hacking circle because they're trying to get on top of the score board. Or, they sit in the spawns and cause the enemy to spawn in odd places.

Personally, if I'm playing QI, I want to rack up a big score. If I'm playing my stun HE, I probably expect to finish last. So score does matter a bit, but what I enjoy most are those moments when I (or a teammate) take over the wave and saves the day.

Just yesterday, on wave 10 (glacier/silver), my HE was sync-killed by a banshee early in the round (after one guy died and quit), and I watched the two guys finish the last 2 device disables and fight their way through.

On wave 11, I used the drone effectively to prevent the 3 of us from being over-run, and we finished with full extraction. All 3 of us finished within 3k score or so, so it was very satisfying.

Score isn't important to me except when there is a leecher. A score of 0 by rd 2 normally is a red flag and right away I think afk. Score to me mainly is an indicator if people are doing anything or not.
