I don't care about score. team member with really low score...I look at NZ score and lvl, if new player I cut slack and try to help. If just a guy that is AFK well that is a decoy.
Thing is I know with kids and such sometimes you have to suddenly leave to handle something really quick and leaving game and losing XP and credits sucks.

You know what is absolutely mind blowing? 80% of me3 mp players finish #1 in 100% of the matches they play. 75% of the time they earn more points then the other 3 team mates combined I think there is some kind if score glitch where it shows more then 1 player as#1.

Or gamers may be thumping their chest a little too loudly and padding their stats too much.

Not really. I do look after each round to see what my score is to see how I am performing so far. I normally play characters that are not high in damage output, so if I am in first place, the games tend to be longer with more KO's and deaths.

However, I feel bad if I am in last place and trail the 3rd person by a wide margin. It has not happened recently, but when it does happen, I feel like I am not contributing enough for my team. Even if it is a clean victory with full extraction. But in the end, what matters to me is winning the game, having fun, and avoid being executed or bleed to death.

I have to admit, I pride myself in reaching the top...but I also acknowledge what class I am using compared to others in the squad, and what their role really is in relation to my own. I never judge someone based on score alone.

I like being on top but as long as I get the cash at the end then all is well.

I think if people genuinly wanted to always be on top they would not use certain character types? I try to go for whatever is most fun i.e. Geth engineer and Krogan Vanguard, if you only strive to be top then you will get frustrated and play less........... in my opinion anyway.

I never check mid game, but sure, I like it if I am. A lot does depend on class, though. I tend to be more interested in how I do vs. a shadow -ie. someone with the same class and weaponry. If they beat me I try to figure out if I should be doing something differently.

But so much is class and map.

I find that it's an adequate gauge to indicate how well you or your teammates are doing. If I find myself in a party with very good to fairly good players, the final experience score will be over 400k, with the top two players having over 100k and the bottom two having 60k to 80k. Usually when the team does more poorly, the total score will only be in the 300k range for a successful extraction.

As long as we win the game I don't care who's first or last.

I myself am kind of split on this issue and was wondering if any of you fine people feel a set way about this. When I play amongst friends, I never give a damn about how many points I have. On the other hand, when I play with Randoms I tend to get competitive. I go out of my way to let the other 3 kill their little groups of enemies, but depending what wave and what enemy I get, I always run up to a spawn and Carpet Bomb anything I see. That way, I wont be accused of kill stealing (Yes, there are people who **** about that). Or, if one of the players is acting like a douche and think they know it all, I make it a point to outperform him just so he can shut-the-****-up.

What are you thoughts on this? Do you care or Don't give a shiet?

to be deliberately annoying, yes and no.

much like you, i don't worry about it with friends - hell, i had some friends help carry me through a silver the other day despite the fact that my class was only level 1.  they didn't care.  hell, even when i was getting killed repeatedly, they still made the effort to get me back up (so i didn't waste medi-gels).  tbh, we were all laughing about the same damn pyro killing me repeatedly.

at other times, i don't worry about it, even in pick-ups.  i'm a sniper at heart.  my job is to make sure the other heavy hitters stay upright and breathing.  if that means killing only one target out of 5, so be it.  if that means getting them back on their feet because there was a sixth that no one else could get to in time, so be it.

i don't know what it is, but the multiplayer engine seems to be very good at picking me multiplayer matches with other players at a similar skill level.  i've had my share of loudmouth players who think they are God's gift to the ME3 multiplayer world, but i've never had issues waiting for the round to end and then selecting one of my optimal classes and running the scoreboard next game (if they stick around - if they don't stay, i'll stick with my current class and continue playing).

If me and the #1- #2 are with in a couple hundred points yes I care. i make it a bit of a game between me and him/her. If not then I just play. I know how good of a player I am (see: NOT VERY) and I like to see how I am progressing as a player.

Only when I try a new build to see how effective it is.
Also if I'm #1 and outscore by more 10K with a GE / AJA, I know somtihng is wrong with my team and quit after the match.

although it doesn't indicate skill or group contribution, i find striving to get the top score is good motivation to play the best i can
it does depend on class, map and the team though

I enjoy being #1, but it doesn't bother me if I am not. In fact I was using a lvl 5 Turian Sentinel today on Silver, and just wanted to hang back and Snipe on Hydra, but the teamates kept going down.

So essentially I planned on hanging back and coming in last, but I had to be the hero, with the lowest ranked character.

That if anything irks me, guys who go down constantly - if you are using a weaker character or trying out a different type of character try to assess on the first couple waves before your John Rambo takes over, see what you can do first before you try to actually do.

In the end I agree with the majority, we all get the same credits at the end, and that's what I play for.

I personally don't mind if I'm at the top most of the time. I do however, when people complain about me getting less points, when I'm the one reviving them all.

No I don't, though I generally end up at the top regardless, probably because I play like I'm supposed to, instead of worrying about some arbitrary score. Funny how that works.

Yeah it's funny to watch everyone run across the map to get all of the kills, but if you just take a couple steps forward they enemies will all spawn away from the teammates who ran and close to you, so you can just unleash the pain.

I do that all the time, just wait.
