I remember I was thrown into an ongoing match in Hydra. Wave 4 I believe. Some dude was like, "Ah shiet, not a Krogan Soldier!" Outscored him and his whole team in anger, was kicked out though.
Let me guess, you went all rambo and just rushed spawn points. So you got to the spawn points first - big deal. Not surprised no one respected you and you got kicked.
You can get away with rambo rushing spawn points and ignoring your teammates on bronze/silver. On Gold, a player doing that IS a bad player. The smart players know to keep a perimeter and support each other, whether you are defending a static position, or whether you are moving AS A TEAM.

Score =/= skill (usually). So much goes into it that isn't skill-related (or is only partially skill-related).
Your class, your build, your teammates' classes/builds, whether you're setting up or detonating explosions, what weapons you're using, if you got vortex'd by a Banshee at the beginning of a round, and a lot more that I'm not going to take the time to list.
So while it's nice to see your name at the top of the list, I don't really care unless someone is very lopsided compared to the rest of the team (in either direction). If you're playing a Gold match and you've got 16,000 points compared to everyone else's in the 80,000's...then you obviously didn't do much.
I prefer my matches to be somewhat even. They seem to go smoothest when they're like that. I don't really care if my name is at the top, bottom, or in the middle so as long as it's respectable - and my scores are always respectable.

Wrong. A good player rushes spawn points. The fact that bad players also rush spawn points, doesn't mean it's a bad tactic.

Rushing a spawn point solo is always bad and generally leads to a quick death. If you don't die, it's because the rest of the team followed you and covered your behind. I always laugh when one person goes rambo and the rest of the team decides not to follow, and he quickly gets flanked and dies. Of course, I'm talking Gold.
Rushing a spawn point as a team and moving from one position to another, where people are covering each other's flanks, is perfectly fine.
