The EC is probably going to be the final nail in the franchise's coffin as they've already said they're not changing anything. Don't rush them. You'll get a much prettier nail if you don't.
Anyway you have to write scripts and storyboards, they have to be approved.
You have to record all the voice overs for all supported languages.
You have to put all the things together and you have to test it.
This is not done in one week or two. So don't expect any large or great DLC. Otherwise you will be disappointed for sure.

As I've said elsewhere, I think something is definately going wrong with the EC. Oh, I didn't expect the EC to be released this soon either, but there is a difference between taking your time and being stone silent without even a tentative release date. It's late May. The EC is supposed to have come out this "summer". That means we should have had a release date by now at the very least and at least some communication.
Why haven't we? I strongly suspect the reason is that the full writing team about a month ago actually saw and peer reviewed the ending for the first time and quickly realized that the promised patches and "clarification" weren't going to work and that in order to actually FIX the ending, they were going to have to rewrite it (as if that weren't obvious to the rest of us for months now!)
THe problem is there is no way that EA will ever give the time or money to do that.....

That or they don't want to release details on a DLC that includes heavy spoilers, or put a deadline on something that already has one.

The last thing we need is for them to rush the EC as well.

JUST GOING TO DROP THIS HERE SO WE'RE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE REGARDING THE EC.
An official press release went out today announcing how we re-prioritizing the Mass Effect 3 post release content schedule to provide a more fleshed out experience for our fans. For many of you the "Extended Cut" will help answer some questions and give closure to this chapter of the Mass Effect story. Oh and it's at no cost to you - the fan.
Here is a mini FAQ to help you understand what the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is and isn't:
What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?
For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to the conclusion of Commander Shepard's journey.
Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team's artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.
What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.
When will the Extended Cut DLC be available?
Currently the Extended Cut DLC is planned for this summer, no specific date has been announced at this point.
Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?
Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard's story.
So there you have it. Are we proud of the game we made and the team that made it? Hell yes. Are we going to change the ending of the game? No. Do we appreciate the passion and listen to the feedback delivered to us by our fans? Very much so and we are responding.
Be good to each other and Summer is coming...

The ending is as bad as it was because they were rushed to finish. Don't rush them again. Give them the time to say what needs to be said, since EA is finally giving them the extra time to say it.

Nixed* ... Stupid mobile phone... They did specifically state cinematics and scenes... But, they never said they wouldn't incorporate some type of gameplay. Just wait for when it comes out. Either it does or doesn't. Regardless, I'm glad they are taking their time with a large team working on it.

I think thats very specific there, thats the official statement, since the last time we took twitter comments to be facts they instead turned out to be absolute lies.
That comes right from the FAQ they released april 5th

Haven't played DNF, but I do like the concept of Duke's massive ego protecting him from harm as a shields mechanic.

They should be making a new ending, not trying to extend the garbage they gave us. Hopefully that is what they are doing. But, like everything Bioware has done in the past few years, they will do it without any communication to their fanbase whatsoever. This tactic may have served them well when the quality of their games was undeniable. But now some very open communication would be most welcome. I doubt that is going to happen though. I would be pleasantly surprised if it did.

poorly executed trust me, you'll find yourself hiding in cover more and more waiting or your character to recharge, while most of the quotes and dialogue feel like they came from a 13 year old boy just learning about girls for the first time.
The DLC expansion the doctor who cloned me plays more like duke than to core game does, unfortunately thats not saying much.
I didn't hate the game but I felt like I wasn't playing duke nukem, its not duke nukem at all. But if you decide to get the game please do yourself a favor and get it for PC, the console ports are beyond horrendous.

I let them take their time IF it is worth it in the end.
But what I want is them not staying silent, they should keep us updated.
