I don't understand how you can expect people to take this no spoilers forum seriously.

I understand they want to advertise, and I have no problem with that. It's just seriously hypocritical to delete threads for spoilers, and even more hypocritical to start a thread titled "spoilers and this forum", then write...

To be extra clear.

Posting a spoiler in this forum is unacceptable (for any reason I don't care if your house burned down and you don't have the CD key anymore and didn't register it before the house burned). If you are found to be doing it repeatedly, a warning will be issued. If the warning is not honored, further action will be taken.

...then sticky it directly under another STICKY titled "Dragon Age: The Calling Discussion thread - (*SPOILERS*)", which itself is located only 4 threads below another topic titled "Questions about Return to Ostagar? *SPOILERS*"

If the Devs don't take this forum seriously, how do you expect other forumites to?

Yes the gods know it's entirely too much to expect people who visit a forum to use any common sense when everyone knows that overstatement rhetoric and hyperbole are the only acceptable forms of communication allowed about anything.

If the devs can post a spoiler then I should be able to post one too na nan na nan nana... /sarcasm

The return to ostragar thread is here because of how they have registration permissions set up.

The only place for non-registered game owners to post is this forum, so putting out information about up-coming releases has to be here right now. They've done what they can to let you know up front that there's spoilers in the thread, obviously.

They (and we) take it very seriously, and expect you to do the same.

Another day, another bunch of people who jump onto the forum for a quick answer and post a bunch of spoilers in the non-spoiler forum.

Seriously, who's bright idea was it to make the base-line, unregistered user forum the non-spoiler one?

Probably the same people who decided to stop fixing site issues about a month ago.  It seems like the website crew have all just said "good 'nuff" and left things at 60%

I say that people should register first, THEN play the game & start needing to post help topics, then they have spoiler-friendly forums to do it in. I'm a little leery of why unregistered people are needing help on the game. Posted Image

Pretty much every rational person everywhere else in the universe agrees that "spoilers" are when someone reveals the ending, a plot twist, a surprise, or other unexpected and significant event in a story to others who have not yet read/seen/whatever the story.

Nobody anywhere considers mentioning basic facts about a character in the story to be a spoiler. If that were the case, no movie, book, or game reviews would ever be published.

Using Star Wars as an example:

"Darth Vader is an evil Jedi who kills people with the Force" - NOT a spoiler.

"Darth Vader is Luke's father" - IS a spoiler.
