How many of us have an un-playable game now?

Myself, I spent a little over $80 USD on my DA:O CE, even pre-ordered it in October.
I now have a wonderfull shiney bookend, Oh that's right ... I have a small cloth map, of a world I can only try and remember, due to the inability to run the game more than a few minutes on my pc designed for gaming, (Games for Windows rating of 5.9).
I'm not asking for help to get it to run, we've all been asking for a while now and that will come whenever Bio Ware decides to give that help, regardless of our plees.
So, please don't flame me with the same responses posted in the other threads that have been helpfull to some, believe me I HAVE tried them.
I just want to know how many of us have completely unplayable games now.
Please chime in if yours is unplayable.

Now we can delay playing untill 2012 waiting for a fix that will never arrive.
They haven't replied in a single thread concerning these problems. enough said.

It could be our system configs that cause the problem, but it is the task of the software to overcome the issues.
I have a great deal of respect for them, making a game as huge as this one and I don't expect a flawless game. What i do expect is an open communication. A healthy customer vendor conversation.
The witcher was another RPG that had a lot of ambition and went down in a sea of bugs. They faced their problems and relaunched the game like it should have been, providing a nice downloadable fix and extra content for those buying the first edition.
Thats what i call support and endless respect to them. Accepting and fixing mistakes. I am still hoping Bioware will do the same. If the problem is or isn't in the software they should just speak up instead of putting their head in the sand and launching some balance fixes.
For the moment i wait.

And then I get this, a game I have been insanely excited for, and it hardly runs on my comp. Looks choppy as Hell. Then when it finally does start running, it crashes and I get an application error. I am more than a little disgusted. I just downloaded the latest patch, but I didn't read anything in it about fixing my, our, problem.

Why would they release a patch that fixes in game balance errors (1.2) when so many people can't even play the thing anyway?
Simple, becasue it is much easier to fix the game balance issues then it is to fix the "hardware" problems. Also game balance issues affect more people then the issues with PC hardware.
Look at it this way:
My game crashes periodically. (Yes it does, but it's still playable) Someplace in the Bioware software they are pushing my nvidia card to produce graphics, but my card doesn't have enough memeory to run the physx driver so it talks to the AMD driver that interfaces with my processer. That processor uses the Microsoft operating system to manage the memory that is used to support the processor and also pushes the Creative Labs driver to power the sound that runs at the same time. Oh and then there's the Norton Antivirus software, as well as Itunes and office that runs in the background.
My game crashed. So where's the problem, is there possibly a bug in the Bioware code OR could it be that they are calling some function that messes up in the nvidia, microsoft, AMD or Creative Labs code. If it works for some systems and not for others, it could very well be the second option. Which means that well, now Bioware has to get on the phone with another company to either get them to fix the issue or talk about a workaround. And that workaround for an AMD fuction may mess up the Intel drivers, so then you have to test on a whole series of other hardware and verify that everything is working.
I know nobody wants to hear it, but when you push PC hardware it's complex. It's not like a developer can just walk to their computer and say, hmmm someone is crashing let me look at the code and see if this is the problem. No they have to reproduce the issue then track down who's issue this is and then get the right fix in, then test the fix to make sure it doesn't introduce more issues, and well repeat the code for the other two platforms if this is shared code....
Believe me I know it sucks, but it's not like Bioware is trying to screw you, having worked in software I know what it's like to work late nights trying to figure out how to fix a bug when the users are pounding on the door going it's simple why can't you get this fixed...

It's hard for the developers and the maintaining staff to identify what is indeed the problem and even if is something at their side or the user's side.
So, since that game runs with good FPS and no perceptible lag in an AMD's 9550 phenom, 4 gb RAM the actual XP can't even use whole, a nVidia 9600GT 512MB VRAM... with almost everything maximized, 2x AA and 4x AF and 5.1 sound, it's just strange game driven machines having all those issues pointed out.
That said I can only point " http://www.tweakguides.com/ " as a site that have very good hints about configuring a clean system, although it does not have a page for DA:O yet. Even so they have comprehensive guides that enhances the system performance as a whole.

Similar to any high intensity 3d PC game, there are Requirements that apply. Entrium made the choice to ignore those warnings completely, and of course it didn't run, so he had no valid complaint (Intel video).Apex Sammoth wrote...

Useless pig's ears will never fly, nor ever look like silk purses
Almost every time any new game is released, there are a bevy of unhappy people whose dislike of reading extends to the warning labels on the game boxes about minimum system requirements. Many of them own elderly PC systems, but most have fairly recent, but quite inexpensive, very basic PCs. Onboard video is the cheapest kind, especially Intel onboard video.
You get what you pay for, no more, that's a fact of life. To make the most of your budget, you do your homework, and you do not believe anyone's onsite sales pitches without support, including the ones I am constantly refuting, about "free (Intel junk video chip) pie in the sky". If you fell for that nonsense, you are in need of an education about PCs, and either a new video card if you have a desktop, or a replacement laptop, because onboard laptop video isn't upgradeable.
The games' developers have named their recommended video cards (for desktop PCs) that are available for a reasonable price to anyone willing to make an effort at shopping for a bargain; if my version of shopping is more intensive, and I am expecting to find even bigger bargains than the ordinary ones, that's because with age and experience, a person can finally, with luck, learn patience.

(sorry for all the detail, easier to just copy/paste). I built this system in the spring of 2009.
My brother patched to 1.01 and his save game got completely borked. So he had to completely uninstall and reinstall the game in order to play his saved games again.

Lol Gorath, ur such a geek. Well, I don't even care anymore. I'm not going to waste any more money on games like this one. I've got my time set out, not like u who go on forums telling people they don't have a good comp and type and essay about it Lol. Oh well, not like this game is a MMORPG anyways. (Gorath, stop geeking up the forums. Get a job, kiss a girl, do something! "Nuff said" *cough*)

That was my point how can one have built a computer with windows 7 in early spring when the launch was several months away, unless he had a demo version or something
