 Just for fun, let's assume there is no dialogue wheel. No dialogue wheel, no Bioware, no Artistic Integrity, none of it. Let's also assume that each one of us is our Shepard. How would you respond to the Catalyst and his...erm...ahem "logic"?

I never play myself as Shepard, but I have imagined that one of my Shepards would say, "You failed. I'll find another way." Just to throw the enemy's words back at them.

If it was actually a Shepard based on myself, the scene might play out more like this...

Catalyst: How do you like your choices?
The Sarendoctrinator: ...I don't.

The first thing I would ask him about is how he could ignore the Geth and Quarians fighting together to kick out Reapers right outside, and tell me that organic and synthetics are doom to destroy each other.

Would have ignored the image, walking thru it and do the job I was there to do.

Course since the main control point of the Citidel is not where we see Shepard/Anderson/Tim it is a mute point.

Actually, that's a pretty cool ending. I have a new headcanon until the EC comes out.

This is what my plan would have been, hiding far away from the Reaper attacks until it's over.

Certainly beats "We fight or we die".

Yeah, that's why I could never play Shepard as myself. So willing to get involved in stuff like this. I'd be the type to say, "How about we run instead? Just run fast and run far, to the other end of the galaxy, until they stop chasing us?"

I'd tell him "You and your reapers have tried to fix the problem of galactic war between organics and synthetics and you have failed in the stupendously idiotic manner possible, and all your other ideas on the matter are almost as bad. Clearly the threat of war between organics and synthetics is a problem you are not fit to solve. Might I suggest that you take your reapers and fly them into the nearest convenient black hole and lets us figure this out ourselves? We might not be perfect, but I'm sure that any conceivable solution we come up with will be better than yours."

I'm sorry but this is probably one of the better thread I've seen here in regards to the ending. Many of your responses are better than actual ending we were given.

That's a good question --- my shepard would not be held hostage by it, and would be like "wait....how is it that you look like this little boy I saw in an esplosion?" to which the catalyst would be like "uh..uh...I've taken on a form you understand" then i wold be like "ok ok like vigil, sooo why kill ORGANICS? why not just kind of chill and wait to see if synthetics are going to kill us? Why not wait and kill synthetics if this supposed "war" were to happen and let organics start over again? That way we get our chance at freedom and if it doesn't happen well you can just chill in deep space" To which the catalyst would say "um....well we never thought of that -- wow we killed a lot of people"

And shepard would be like "I know, tis why you have to die --- all this time we've talked a new cipher has been uploaded that will take your place and be much more accomodating"

Catalyst would be like "NOOOOO you can't replace me!!" [DELETE] [REBOOT] new light form appears "shooom" "Hello, welcome to the Citadel. My name is Avina. How can I help you?" To which shepard would say "Destroy all the reapers"

BAm explosion. Everyone dies. The end
