There's quite a few actually. Another one is getting Tali exiled. It's a Paragon decision in ME2, but it pevents achieving peace in ME3.FodoSatoru wrote...

Being Renegade isn't about jerkassery, at least not regarding major decisions. It's about pragmatism. And what's the use of practicality in the universe where "idealistic" approach almost always yields better results?

Keeping Javik in the dark is a somewhat harsh move: you're keeping critical information from him that he deserves to know as a cogent organism. However, doing so keeps his mind clear, and ultimately doesn't show him images that will haunt him for the rest of his life. Therefore, doing something harsh ends up being beneficial for his mental integrity in the long run.
I consider those "chaotic good" options.

Depends on what you define as "better", seeing as the Renegade path is just as viable as the Paragon one, if more bloody and full of jerk tendencies.FodoSatoru wrote...

If you don't romance anyone, and he didn't use the shard, you get the dialog about being King of the Hanar
If you romanced someone (doesn't matter who), and he didn't use the shard, you get the dialog about writing a book with Liara. (this is also referenced from Liara's point of view as a log entry in Liara's room)

Ah thanks.EsterCloat wrote...
If you keep visiting Javik eventually he'll talk about remembering stuff from the shard but it being painful and if you say it's worth it he'll grab it and remember offing all his indoctrinated friends with a knife. Cripes. That makes him want to go die on some random planet after the war is over.Velocithon wrote...
What's with the memory shard? The only thing I noticed regarding it was when after I obtained Javik from the mission, Liara asked what it was and he said "a memory shard...it contains only pain".
Never heard anything about it again...
If he doesn't touch it he'll talk about traveling the galaxy and becoming king of the hanar.
Funny...I've done everything on my "perfect playthrough" so far. Except talk to Javik. I talk to everyone else after every mission, but never talked to Javik. Whoops.

There's also one more version youtu.be/_BqrT-Vhhco he says that he wants to see more of the Galaxy. How do you get this? Romance + Shard?djspectre wrote...
If you convince Javik to use the memory shard, regardless of your love interest, he will want to die with his friends since he has no purpose after the Reapers are gone.
