But I'm confused, why is there overwhelming hate for this ending? Did people not understand it? Did people not pay attention in the past three games? This was a perfect end to the trilogy. I'll admit there weren't too many choices to be made in those final two hours, but really, who cares? The ending wrapped things up quite well and even gave us a bit extra, in true Bioware fashion.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, am I the only one who feels this way? If so, please explain why, please tell me why so many people hate the ending, because I'm just baffled.

I agree with you but you might want to put flame retardent undies on.....PrivateJoker17 wrote...
And found the ending to be incredibly moving, jaw dropping and astounding. I was in awe for those final thirty minutes and have to admit a tear came to my eye. I've been a fan since the original release back in '07 and had been looking forward to the game for two years before that. Mass Effect is my favourite franchise, I've played through the first two countless times and honestly this was one of the best endings in gaming for me and I couldn't be happier.

HIT THE DECK!!!!
Also I agree. However, I'd like to point out that while okay to good, this ending requires aditional scenes, content, and expanded dialouge in order to be truley great. Also an epilouge.
The extended cut promisies to do so, and I have hopes for it, because without it the endings will always be close but not quite good in my opinion.
And prepare to be insulted and have every aspect of your value as a human being questioned by highly irritable and hyper judgmental posters who find even the slightest hint of positivity towards the current bioware or mass effect 3 to be an affront to their very value of exsistence.

I felt the same as you, but most people seem unable to accept the fact that the Starchild exists, that "my choices didn't matter!", that there are a couple of plotholes regarding Joker being in a mass relay and squadmates being on the Normandy when they were on Earth with Shepard, and other things about it ruining their replayability or destroying the theme of Mass Effect and such.
And yes, then there were some who didn't understand it and/or didn't like that it was depressing. But you're not allowed to mention that some people feel that way.

Or you could just google the ME3 ending and find several posts/articles describing what is wrong with it.

See. Isn't that a lot more fun to type than "I don't like that".

Of course I will. Most of those problems can be solved with the extended cut, but some of the more major ones (i.e the goddamned starchild) can't. I'll admit that I'm not optimistic about the outcome of the EC, but I won't deem it a failure until I've had a chance to play it myself.
Also, my above complaints are valid because I have nothing to compare them too. Perhaps I'll few differently after the EC, but you know my general attitude towards the DLC.

I didn't see it as succumbing. Yeah, Shepard could have told him he's an idiot, and should have been allowed to... but would that have actually changed anything?

The trapped part I agree with. As for starved.. the quarians brought their liveships, so that's unlikely.
Edit: depending on how the player handled things, that is.

Probably not, but being able to do so would have been a comfort.

Until the game shows up proof that the quarians did indeed bring enough food, it is nothing but speculation at this point. Besides, I always assumed that those liveships were mostly empty shells (most of the food should have gone towards refurtilizing Rannoch), but were brought along because of the sheer power of the modified cannons.

Why?
Shep isn't magic. When she disagrees with someone it doesn't mean that he changes his mind about stuff

Fari enough. We'll see what happened when the EC ships.
