The problem with Star Child is that Shepard is forced to agree with him, despite him presenting an idea that runs completely counter to a theme explored by the the writers over the course of five years and three games. According to Jake Lloyd the Star Child, destruction of organics at the hands of synthetics is an inevitability. Why then, was so much time, dioalogue and exposition wasted on portraying the Geth as relatively peaceful and victims in the Morning War? Why then was so much time spent on the development of EDI's 'humanity' or in negotiating a peace treaty between the Quarians and the Geth?

Nothing is wrong with a 'synthetics are bad' angle in Sci Fi, but if that is going to be your theme you should be consistent throughout the story. Instead Mass Effect explores the opposite for most of the trilogy, only to reverse course in the last five minutes. It is as if you had two different writers writing different parts of the story, with two different themes in mind, and who never communicated with each other. The schizophrenic writing in the ending is indefensible.

Pretty much.

I visited here before completing the game, and was slower that most people in doing it. I avoiled getting spoiled however, because I avoided any thread with"end" or ending" in the title like the plague. So long as spoilers aren't in thread titles it is fairly easy to avoid them.

People who complain about being spoiled in threads clearly discussing end game content, really have no one but themselves to blame. Why did they enter?

And if you're not trolling, then good for you. But its still a crap ending, and an overall underwhelming end to what should have been the greatest trilogy every released.

I'm pretty sure it IS a troll considering the wording.  The fact that the OP hasn't stepped back into the thread sort of reinforces it.

And if you're not trolling, then I weep for how easily entertained/amused you are and I wish I had the capacity to be.

It seems to me that talking about that is necessary for any response to be meaningful. Couldn't you have moved the thread to the spoilers subforum instead of deleting my post and threatening me with a ban?

Discuss it in the appropriate forums and not in the general discussion forum.
