Yup, I feel obliged to call people out on their blatant insults and backwards thinking.

And found the ending to be incredibly moving, jaw dropping and astounding. I was in awe for those final thirty minutes and have to admit a tear came to my eye. I've been a fan since the original release back in '07 and had been looking forward to the game for two years before that. Mass Effect is my favourite franchise, I've played through the first two countless times and honestly this was one of the best endings in gaming for me and I couldn't be happier.
But I'm confused, why is there overwhelming hate for this ending? Did people not understand it? Did people not pay attention in the past three games? This was a perfect end to the trilogy. I'll admit there weren't too many choices to be made in those final two hours, but really, who cares? The ending wrapped things up quite well and even gave us a bit extra, in true Bioware fashion.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, am I the only one who feels this way? If so, please explain why, please tell me why so many people hate the ending, because I'm just baffled.

It is good that you liked and enjoyed it fine sir but to assume that everyone who hated it didnt understand or pay attention to it is F***ing stupid.

Best regards.

I just finished it too, and in all honesty it wasn't as bad as everyone's making it out to be.

I just would've liked to see what happened to all my crew. I chose SYNTHESIS, saw EDI and Joker, and even Kaidan at the end, but nobody else. I felt like they should've given more closure especially since it was the end of the trilogy...

Yeah, me too. I couldn't believe how they could screw it up so badly.

this was one of the best endings in gaming for me and I couldn't be happier.

Good for you, sweety. I guess you'll just have to accept that many people feel exactly the opposite way, just as they have to accept that there are people like you who actually like the ending because neither side can understand why. Must've got something to do how the brain works differently, I don't know.

I just hope people like you stay in the minority because I'd rather have give up gaming completely than having such despicable p.o.s. ending clutter my screen ever again...

I just beat the game recently too. I had been at school and I wanted to know everyones opinion on the end. Came to this section and I was astounded. My favorite series and still favorite upset so many people. For me I chose Destruction and even though I knew the f*****g starchild was coming I still was baffled. I read the end I caved and heard about the starchild and even though I knew it was coming I was still so drawn in.

In my opinion the ending was OK. The starchild ruined it for me, but since i chose destroy i found that I still felt good.

The Indoc Theory aside, which I dont fully believe till it is confirmed, I viewed the starchild as a AI. From what I was understanding, please dont hurt me, the reapers were created by the first race and then they started the cycle. I viewed the starchild as a rogue AI who decided he was helping and then took control of the reapers. Kinda like a IRobot type of thing.

Am I so off or is this something that fits?

I would expect that you don't even really care about the actual ME story, you just want to feel something in your dull and likely boring life other than the norm.

We all get the ending, we get it and its flaws better and better, as we always have. And by saying that we don't is ****ing retarded of you, such assumptions are just going to anger people... Or is that what you want? You would be trolling then.

And if it took you this long to beat the game then of course you are satisfied with its mediocrity.

Ending is bad and destroys the replayability for the whole series.
At least I could trust CoDMW and Gears of war to have a satisfying finish. I am legit serious about this stuff.

The ending was sad for me in the fact that it came to an end. All of Shepard's fighting and helping in the galaxy came to an end by his sacrifice. I still want to reserve my total opinion until further dlc comes out and the ending is explained. I agree with the other that stated that the ending was moving. Very much so!!

OP you're funny, you posted all that in a very a subtle way that I bet most won't even get.

But I'll fill in the details, incredibly moving - the cheap use of banshees and hunters was so incredible that it moved you to nearly chuck your controller at your TV, jaw dropping - as you were in disbelief of what the Prothean VI told you on Thessia about the Cruible and how no one knows what it will do to the reapears and many before you have tried the same thing with no success, astounded you were that Bioware put a junk shot ending to an otherwise okay series.   Then a little teary eyed you got when they cheapened your equipped weapon down to just a hand gun on your journey down the path to the Citadel beam in slow cheap jittery controls.

Yeah I foudn ME3 ending to be breath taking... I almost past out when I finished the game and realized that was suppose to be the ending.

:)

Well, since the ****ed-up registration process had a profoundly negative effect on my ability to post in any other forum than the 'general discussion' I may feel forced to post spoilers here from time to time if I want to partake in any kind of meaningful ME3 debate.

Or, was it the part where Shepard simply believes the star
kid when the star kid all along has been the evil puppet master behind
the reapers-meaning he is the big nasty in the game?

You didn't understand the ending if you believe that.

Believe what? That the SC is responsible for a cycle of mass genocides on an incomprehensible scale, planned to be continued for all eternity? That, urm, is fact.

Does he have the good intentions? He says so, and maybe he believes so. Still he doesn't provide us with any evidence to back up the fear that drove him into starting the cycle, and we know that he can't have proof of it happening. So he is acting on quite questionable motives, yet we can't question him.

Does the fact that it all makes sense in his twisted mind make him any less 'the big nasty'? I really don't see how.

Personally all I want is an epilogue explaining what happened to my squad and the various races afterwards. The epilogue taking into account most decisions made throughout the trilogy including the destroy/synthesis/control option.

But please could the developers put more effort into multiplayer. It is the most bugged, glitched ridden, disconnect ridden, unfinished feature in the game? All single player needs is an epilogue.

Multiplayer needs:
new patches.
New game modes (aside form 11 waves of hell which is fun by the way).
A campaign.
New maps etc.

Agree with your take on the ending but what system are you playing on? I havent had a single issue with MP.

Depends on what you figure Shepard is supposed to "simply believe" there. Some folks have said that Shepard seems to accept not only that the Starchild did these things, but also accepts the logic behind doing those things. I'm guessing that's how The Razman read that post, and that's what he's objecting to.

I could ask the same about you. From my own experience, I thought the ending was OK, if a little bizarre and vague when I first finished the game. Then I lost a good deal of sleep thinking about the ending in light of how it fits into the trilogy as a whole. Then I finally recognized it for the rubbish that it was.

Grimwick has been banned from the forums for his post.

I want to be VERY clear on this. If you like the endings, great. If you do not like the endings, that is fine too. HOWEVER if someone comes in here saying they like/disliek the ending DO NOT bash them for their opinion. Leaping in and telling people that they are an idiot for liking the ending or for disliking it or believing IT or disbelieving IT or whatever is NOT allowed here.

People deliberately disdaining each other, insulting and takign threads off topic WILL be banned for their actions.

Any more spoilers or insults and more bans will be handed out and the thread will be closed with teh people responsible being banned.

To the OP, I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Hopefully, you'll enjoy teh Extended Cut and future DLC as well. :)
