I picked up DA II again after about a year away from it, and I remember why I stopped playing it before - I am c*** at combat in this game.
I have tried the battle in 'Offered and Lost' so many times and failed, that I feel like giving up again.
Does anyone have some basic tips for numpties on how to deal with battles like that one?
Tips on combat?

Just try to do... this. Whatever it is, I don't really know, but I found that controlling Fenris while playing my mage in those types of situations actually works out a lot better for me than controlling my mage.
Of course, he also has a mage speed run of that fight...

When you get dropped down on/overrun highlight your squad and use the move to position thing to funnel enemies in front of you. Also, healer is almost necessary for the tough battles for extra healing while potions cool down. Unless you have archers, take down archers first or they will pick you apart.
