I don't know if anyone else has been having their game crashing upon sleeping.

It seems to happen in modded areas. It happened to me most recently in Stone of Askavar, but is not restricted to that mod.

I have discovered that if the graphics mode full screen is turned off, then this bug does not occur.

It is only a workround, but I have found it helpful, as crashes are a pain you know where.
