Why anyone would care about retaking a stupid run down back water place like Omega still puzzles me. Aria wants omega back and thats my problem why?

Aside from the fact that the ending of 3 killed my desire to play it anymore, that also is a good point. Meh, if I don't get what I want out of the EC, BioWare isn't getting a dime unless they make some sort of reunion with crew/LI happen in a future DLC (slim hope of that).

Again, none of you know anything about the extended cut.

Nothing. Not one thing.

All you know is that the current endings are not changing.

You don't know if the extended cut will explain those endings to perfection. You don't know if it'll be terrible. You don't know if there will be gameplay. You don't know if it'll be just cinematics or a giant Powerpoint slideshow. You don't know if it'll be the most awesome thing ever.

The fact remains: YOU DON'T FREAKING KNOW.

So please, keep making yourselves look like complete idiots. It's really giving me a good laugh throughout the day.

Hudson specifically stated in a twitter post that he never said there wasn't more gameplay.

Well we do know a few things, like it won't contain any gameplay, and that it is going to expand on the endings. if it keeps the start child then it has to be indoctrination otherwise my points still remain valid in that the star childs existence means that the whole main story of mass effect 1 does not exist in mass effect 3. And for everyones sake please read the offiical FAQ regarding the EC otherwise you make yourself look like a troll. Here i'll make it easy for you.

http://social.biowar.../index/11028404

An official press release went out today announcing how we re-prioritizing the Mass Effect 3 post release content schedule to provide a more fleshed out experience for our fans. For many of you the "Extended Cut" will help answer some questions and give closure to this chapter of the Mass Effect story. Oh and it's at no cost to you - the fan.

Here is a mini FAQ to help you understand what the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is and isn't:

What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?
For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to the conclusion of Commander Shepard's journey.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team's artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.

When will the Extended Cut DLC be available?
Currently the Extended Cut DLC is planned for this summer, no specific date has been announced at this point.

Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?
Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard's story.

So there you have it. Are we proud of the game we made and the team that made it? Hell yes. Are we going to change the ending of the game? No. Do we appreciate the passion and listen to the feedback delivered to us by our fans? Very much so and we are responding.

Be good to each other and Summer is coming...

And why make Omega DLC? Of all the planets and stations in the Mass Effect universe, I found Omega to be my favourite. I wouldn't have thought I was the only one and it really does seem like an obvious choice. There is always room for more content.

"The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned."

After re-reading that, it looks like my only hope for a reunion for Shepard and his crew/LI is the EC. :/

Illum and Omega are both likely going to get "Retake DLC's." Omega because it's heavily implied in the comics and Illuim (Biggest trading planet in the galaxy gets attacked by Reapers. That's as close to seeing the Citadel get attacked by Reapers as we are going to get) since it was originally supposed to be in ME3. I'd rather have the EC though, I can barely get through ME3 knowing that everything I do just goes out the window at the end.

So in a sense, it's not delaying the Retake Omega DLC... It's determining whether the Retake Omega will sell, and if the EC doesn't satisfy, it wont sell nearly as well as it could have

Why would even Shepard retake Omega. What would that possibly change for the outcome of the war? We already have all the mercenaries from that system on our side. The Alliance have no interest in Omega and I don't owe Aria anyhting. Unless they pull a macguffin out of a dark corner of Omega that would significantly add to your cause and make some sense in the storyline then I see no point. And will pass on it, regardless if they fix the ending or not.

I really don't care if the EC ends up cancelling all DLC for ME3. For me, there's no point in playing it if the ending stays the same. I hate to keep harping on the ending, but it's still a ruined game series for me.

OH NOES! IT'S DELAYING THE FUTURE OMEGA RETAKEN DLC, OH GOD NO!!!!!

Seriously? Who gives a flying ****. It's a freaking side-story/mission centered around a side-character that has absolutely no meaning when taken in the context of how the whole story ends.

If you can't bear to wait for more Carrie Anne to get off to go watch the Matrix, the EC is pivotal for a huge amount of fans and directly influences whether DLC such as this is even relevant.

Some Retakers and also some Pro-enders: Expects everyone to feel sympathy for their cause and feelings. Spits on others causes and feelings.

Nice.

Fixed.

Dear, OP.

why should I buy, much less be interested in Omega or any other DLC when the ending, as it stands, offers zero resolution and goes out of its way to tell you that nothing, not Rannoch, or Sur'kesh or Omega, or anything else you've done makes any difference to the game.

"Hey, pay $10 for another set of meaningless events."

No, thanks.

I'd rather not doom Aria to starve to death on Omega. You're a jerk if you're in a hurry to do that. Especially after she let you sleep off your over-drinking on her couch (only once, but still, better than I expected of Aria).

I could see Shepard helping Aria retake Omega AFTER the war, but considering the utter devastation the galaxy endures, that's just not possible.

Unless retaking Omega changes the ending (regardless of what the EC offers), I don't see the point. Shepard would tell Aria to take a hike.

Retaking omega would mean having access to the omega 4 relay and even if the base was blown up cerberus built some research bases in the galactic core to study either the cb or the remains of the cb.  Getting control of the omega 4 relay would be a big deal during the war.

You know she might be dead if she's in the Citadel right ?

Why? Did they move it in the comics or something?

Staff have said that we can assume anyone plot important didn't die on the Citadel. As much of a cop-out as that is, is at least means Aria is still alive, unlike stranding her on Omega.

cerberus constructed some research bases on the other side of the omega 4 relay after shepard put down the collectors.  It's in the books and comics.
