The Error Code 1005 - too many files uploaded for that character, means that the game uploaded more than 4 files for a specific character. This isn't a big problem unless it causes you to run out of space in the online storage server. The website will handle too many files for updating your player profile.
As Snoteye said you can delete that character and all the files associated with it should go away. This won't delete your character from the game but you will have to play that character again and cause it to get uploaded to the online storage server before it shows up on the website again.
One of my characters was showing with error 1005 and listing 7 uploaded files. I've deleted that character and it no longer shows in the profile, but on the diagnostics page that character is still listed with 4 files uploaded for her (i didn't launch the game after deleting so no, it's not the game re-uploading things but apparently leftovers the server failed to clean properly)
Also if i may ask, isn't the cap of 100 files rather severe? Since apparently the screenshots we upload get scaled down alot, with that amount of files it barely reaches 10% of actual allowed space (35mb out of 350 allowed) ... if the limit has to stay there, maybe the server could at least ignore it when uploading characters' data given it's just 4 small files per character, to hopefully eliminate some problems with updating when you run into this limit..?

I did the same thing and have the same results -- character is not there but she still shows up (with 4 files) on the Diagnostics page. That's why I was wondering about a time stamp
My theory right now is that it may take some time to actually get through the data -- maybe there is a buffer or something. Other than that, I agree that she should be updated. I jumped in game and specifically did a re-save so that it would upload again.

Yesterday night when I deleted all the uploaded screenshots to make some space for other files (that was a real PITA) I just refreshed that error page and the screenshot would get deleted eventually. Now this morning I still have 35 screenshots uploaded, even though I deleted them all yesterday. I think all the screenshots that are left are the ones that got that error page when deleting them. Not sure. I disabled the uploading of screenshots from the game, so they are not new screenshots.

I wondered about it too but on the other hand the diagnostics page immediately changed to reflect the number of files for that character went down from 7 to 4 so something seems amiss still. Also, that one character wouldn't update her data for nearly a week by now which i'm guessing had something to do with these extra files... so the routine which is supposed to remove such duplicates appears to be very slow/inefficient or otherwise bugged.Adaram wrote...

The upload limits are controlled by the game team and are set that low to prevent in-game issues - it's entirely unrelated to the amount of scaling done by this website on your screenshots. If you want to share a high-res version, the original screenshots can be found in your "My Documents" folder on your computer.

I take it the original size screenshots would have to uploaded to custom-made album seeing how it's not possible to manipulate the Dragonage album from/through the website?

Well, this is interesting.. on the website my achievements are all out of date, and it doesn't show diagnostics for any of my characters. But if I go to "Online Profile" from in game, it brings up a webpage with all my achievements up to date, and if I do diagnostics all of my characters are there.
One of them has no errors but still won't show up on the site, the other two have the dreaded 1005 error...
I'm seeing the same thing, if I go to my profile via the link on the site I get out of date data (screenshots, achievements and characters) but if I access my profile from within the game all my achievements are there and the diagnostics page lists all my characters, but with errors (even though none of them show up and none of the screenshots show up either, but at least the numbers for the screenshtos are correct here)
EDIT: It seems that both profiles have a different persona_id, hope this is of any use to the developers.

I haven't launched the game in the meantime so this is not a factor.

Your main profile page doesn't show any characters at the moment but i think this one just takes a while to update. I've noticed it with my own characters, where the summary pages would often show characters to be few levels 'younger' compared to what their individual pages would say.Skyburnbright wrote...
Huh... okay, now I'm getting something in my activity feed saying my characters were uploaded, and I can click on them and they come up fine and everything looks right, but if I manually go to my profile page, they still aren't there. Can somebody go to mine and tell me if they see anything? Thanks. This is so weird o_O

* "unable to connect to server" - hit refresh, try loading the page again.
* FATAL SCARY EXCEPTION ERROR - hit refresh, try loading the page again. (we're working on this one)
* "too many files" - not a problem unless you've maxed out your space, in which case deleting screenshots and any characters with too many files will resolve it
* "too few files" - your game is NOT UPLOADING DATA, and you need to try things like changing equipment, manually re-saving, etc to get it to do so.
* no characters listed at all - your game is NOT UPLOADING DATA, and you need to try things like changing equipment, manually re-saving, etc to get it to do so. Alternately you could have multiple gamertags/accounts involved, at which point that needs to be resolved
* everything is reported as okay but things are out of date - this could be because your game hasn't uploaded data lately, in which case do the same as "too few files". It could also be something else, in which case please post over in the social.bioware.com site help forum with details and we will investigate.

So, I went to the forums, and then went back to my profile page via the My Games/Dragon Age - PC link. I got to a profile page with 34 achievements, 0 characters showing, 0 screenshots. And the diagnostic tool says Error Code 1000 - no characters, no screenshots, number of files is 0.
I checked the URLs, they are different, one includes a dragon age id and a persona id. The other uses the same dragon age id, but doesn't include a persona id.
When I first got DAO, I already had both a Bioware and an EA account (from previous games) and the site recognised my email address (the same address in both cases). It came up with my Bioware username itself (but not my EA one). And asked me to create a password. So, I have an EA username and password, a Bioware username and password, and now a DAO username (the Bioware one) and (different) password. All using the same email address. Could this be the cause of the problem, and if so, how do I resolve it?
Edit: Should I delete my account and start again by creating a new account? I hesitate to do so, fearing to make the problem worse instead of resolving it.

I appear to have 2 profile pages for some reason. I discovered this because of the new diagnostic tool. When I go to my online profile from ingame and log in, my profile page has 49 achievements on it, 0 characters, 0 screenshots, but the diagnostic says that I have 7 characters, 72 screenshots, and 100 files. I don't know how I can delete characters to make room - when I've already deleted them?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing as I have the same issue. Anyone know?

Any idea why my other Char Ledeanna is not uploading but my new char Ledeanne is uploaded (Ledeanna is a full playthrough I finished last night before I re-enabled the uploads I even loaded both the save game at the archdemon fight and refinished the fight and the post-epilogue save still no upload on Ledeanna)
The files I have are as follows
Ledemanna (deleted on site and ingame) - Char XML
Dimodes (deleted on site and ingame) - Portrait Image & Avatar Image
Aimees (deleted on site and ingame) - Char XML
Ledeanne (Current Playing Character) - All 4 files
ok figured out the Ledeanna could not upload now it is saying 12/100 with the 4 files for Ledeanna (shows up in diagnostic and in game but just not up on the web profile yet)

Deleting your account will not resolve the issue of having multiple personas. The website will still detect the same one it's detecting now. We recently deployed some code to detect multiple personas and that is why they are starting to appear. We are also working on allowing you to be able to switch between personas.
Thanks for the response on multiple personas Jeff. Although, I don't really want to switch between them, I only want one. How did I end up with two?
What about the 100 files (maxed out storage), 7 characters, 72 screenshots the diagnostic reports on one of them - when there are none there because they've already been deleted? Anyone got any clues?
Edit: just went back and now the 7 characters are showing. I'll try deleting them and the screenies and see if that solves at least part of my problem.
