Apparently deleting files is currently hit-and-miss online due to backend server load - when managing screenshots on this site, try deleting some, hitting refresh, and re-delete them if they persist.   We're working on the root cause, but persistence should work in the meantime.

I've uploaded a screenshot of my Profile Diagnostics page to help.

Everything seems to pass the test, however, as you can see in the screen my error code is 1005. Also, Avatar Image is checked but my profile image that links to it is blank.

The first section says I have 6 files, second section says I have 9 screenshots uploaded and the last section correctly states that I have 15 / 100 files stored. But my error 1005 says;

"Too many files uploaded for character."

I am on my second character, the first which did upload and work until about lvl 3 was deleted a few days ago (online, not in game). My second character has not uploaded screenshots,stats or images and is now at lvl 7. My blank online avatar is pointing to the portrait of this second character.

Let me know if you have any ideas, thanks!

I've also received the invalid persona message on occasion, reloading the page seems to get by it. I do occasionally get an in game message that I have been dc'd from online storage. Logging out an back in seem to have some success, I can upload screenshots (although they don't appear online).

ok figured out the Ledeanna could not upload now it is saying 12/100 with the 4 files for Ledeanna (shows up in diagnostic and in game but just not up on the web profile yet)

So other then the 4 files that are still there everything else looks to be working fine so far (for those wondering I am mentioning this to help the team figure problems out considering it is a little over a month and they will have a 2nd game on this system)

The Error code '1004' still hasn't been explained in the slightest. It's the only one I seem to get. And looking at the 'FAQ' is utterly useless.

Well, I hope we'll get a list of ways to force the game to update characters, as I still have one that won't upload period, despite changing gear and deleting the ini file and so on. All the rest of my characters upload fine. I could accept it if none of my newer characters were uploading, and it was due to mod use, but that's not the case here...

Great, now I've got 4 characters in there... yet I only have one character in the actual game. And it seems one of the four is a duplicate of the one I'm actually playing... and to top it all off, that one has about three different error codes stuck to it, 1004, 1002 AND 1003. Wonderful. Actually, f**k it.
I'll just play the game, and not bother ever looking at this buggy site, good job.

Delete the character on the site and play and save the character in-game to initiate an upload of stats. When next updated, the info should reset as appropriate.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that yet prevents it from happening again. Which is why my Julane character has so many files (57 last check) after the last deletion, with no screenshots uploaded.

I check my EA Account and it seems I have 2 Dragon Age persona. This must be the reason why the In-game says I have 29/100 files, but nothing here on this site. I run the profile diagnostics, and it says I have no character. How can I resolve this?

Edit: I used the method mentioned previously on this thread. I go to the online profile through the in-game menu and the profile diagnostic show 2 characters (which is correct) and 22 scrshots. If I got to my profile throgh this forum, I got no character and no scrshots. I looked at the URL, and both have a different persona ID.

How can I solve this? Can you just set my profile to use the persona that have my 2 characters?

There seems to be more issues with this... i have just deleted 4 images from my screenshots but while the screenshots page properly reflects the updated set (it went down from 84 to 80 total and remains so through multiple instances of hitting "refresh") the file count on diagnostics page only decreased by 1 ... and to make it even funnier, total count of screenshots is reported as 85 even though i didn't upload anything new in a few days so there cannot possibly be any images pending.

The persistence isn't going to help me because no matter how many times i hit refresh these extra screenshots don't ever appear and i can't help but wonder if they even exist...

ok 2 of the 3 chars I have deleted in game and on the site that have a few files left got reuploaded I am going to try to upload the 3 chars from char creator and then try deleting them from the site again. As to why the client is reuploading them I am not sure if anyone knows (I deleted them in game and the characters directory does not have them in there is there another file I should check)

Edit : ok uploaded from char creator the 3 chars and now all files but story are showing up on diagnostic will wait till tomorrow and try to delete them from manage characters and see if that clears them.

If you are receiving the the message "Invalid persona/game combination" please PM me the URL you get for the diagnostics page.  This error should only show up if the URL is not properly formed.

YAY! They came up with a way to switch profiles. Now that I can view my proper persona all of my character information is uploaded!

I checked the FAQ and didn't find anything on these errors that I keep getting.


Error Codes
1004 - No story xml file uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.

1002 - No avatar image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.

1003 - No portrait image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.

We just deployed a way to switch between gamer tag/persona profiles on the Dragon Age player profile page. This is so users with multiple gamer tags for a single system can switch between their profiles now.

Okay, firstly thanks to Jeff and all the others working so hard to get the site running correctly for us. Since I have complained several times about things not working, I wanted to say thanks for those that now are (for me, at least), and to let you know what still isn't so that the details can be fixed too.

The new select other persona works fine (though I'd still much rather just delete the other persona and only have one). All 10 of my characters are now on my profile page (yaaay!), and seem to be up-to-date. And although I've had problems with characters and screenshots that have been deleted reappearing, Jeff is correct in that persistence does eventually get rid of them.

I have received the invalid persona/game combination message. If it recurs, I will PM.

Problems remaining:

According to the diagnostic tool, not only are my 10 extant characters now online, so are 4 that have been deleted. Each of which still has files stored online. Those characters and files are not present on my page, so I don't know where the files are (or IF they are there) or how to get rid of them. Each has error codes attached (1001, 1002, 1003, 1004 variously).

One of my actual extant characters has an error code too (1004). The diagnostic tool says to go to a particular place on the faq to help resolve errors - but that place says nothing about error codes and how to resolve the issue. I shall try playing with this character today and seeing if a new save and upload fixes the error. [Edit: it did, error now gone.]

Ingame I'm told that I have 80 (currently) files stored online, but the diagnostic tool says 51 (incorrectly according to my sums that give a total of 48). So I'm being gimped on storage.

And finally, although my characters are there on my page, as you can see from my Jade Empire avatar on the left, when I go to the edit profile picture page, none of my ingame characters have a portrait there for me to select as an avatar.

Again, thanks for all the hard work to resolve problems and here's hoping the last issues get sorted soon.

Edit: oh, and Recent Achievements incorrectly shows two of the very first achievements I got, rather than any 'recent' ones.

I have something like this as well. I get codes 1004, 1001. It says I have 2 files uploaded, of which I have no idea. I don't have any characters uploaded and it never ever uploaded any of my chars. I only had a few from the Character Creator but i deleted those. I think the problem might be with the game itself, because I have two accounts and neither are uploading, even though i have all the right boxes ticked. I think I'll reinstall sometime soon.

Thanks for this! It works great. One suggestion though, any chance of a way to set the default one that shows up for visitors? I can change it and see the properly functioning one just fine now, but by default it still always loads the one that hasnt updated in weeks.

Just realised that the reason for the lack of photos in the 'change profile photo' is probably because the site is using the persona that has nothing in it - all the game data is going to the other persona. For those of us that have multiple personas, is there a way to let us use our characters as avatars?

We are aware that people with pictures in multiple personas/gamer tags might not be able to choose their character portraits as profile photos on the social site. We will be fixing that.



Thanks for the suggestions on removing, hiding or setting personas as default.

The diagnostic reports an "Aedan" (default male human noble) character for me that lacks a character XML. While it's likely I had such a character at some point, it has been deleted from my profile a long time ago (and doesn't appear in my "manage characters" tab). Could it be causing problems ? Can I get rid of it more thoroughly ?

Also, I have just deleted every single screenshot from my online profile but it still says I have 30 ss and 63 files. Is it just out of date or is there also "hidden" unwanted stuff ?
