Quick question to anyone who can help, please?

It says 81/100 files for me. 21 Screenshots and 7MB our of max 350MB -

WTF does that mean? If I somehow reach 100 files and 8MB... do I lose the other 342MB empty storage available??? Isn't that a nonsense?

Think of the files and size as two mutually exclusive elements to limiting the files you can upload. Whichever one you reach first is your limit.



Considering the problems with the "extra unexpected files", I think most people are going to hit the file limit long before the MB limit. I've had to clear out my files multiple times because of it, and most times deleting characters doesn't even work entirely (deleted characters still leave files behind).

My character info hasn't updated in weeks. When I started the game in November the characters and achievements updated fine. After I switched computers once, went back, and switched back (lots of game issues and finally my desktop gave up on everything - now I can only play on the laptop) I still have not seen any of my new characters on the site. I deleted my old characters since they are no longer in existence, and the achievements are updated -



But I have no files from any of my current games which I have been playing all week. Nor any from the characters between these and the first ones. Any help?





When I do the Profile Diagnostics it gives me this: "Invalid persona/game combination" in red text half the time, and the other half it uploads old characters who haven' existed in months. I'm constantly getting



Bethany 1001, 1002

Menollie 1004, 1002, 1003

Aedan 1004, 1002, 1003

Natalia 1004, 1002, 1003



Bethany and Menollie haven't existed since November - Aedan and Natalia are refusing to update their portraits, save files, etc...

And these are not from this past week or so?

Are you running the game from the launcher, or consistently getting errors when the game attempts to connect to your profile (it will inform you during play)?

It depends on the day if it gives me errors to connect to my profile.



However, Aedan was started at the end of last week, and Natalia is only about a week and a half old. I just stated a mage, and her stuff uploaded just fine.

Error Codes

1004 - No story xml file uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.



1002 - No avatar image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.



1003 - No portrait image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.



1005 - Extra unexpected files uploaded for this character.



1001 - No character xml file uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.

And I don't know how to fix them. Should I just wait for bioware updates to fix the problem? A dev comment would be nice.

The Xbox version suffers from a unique bug that makes its updating unreliable (or reliably nonfunctional). Additionally, users have reported that once a portrait/avatar has failed to upload from a console nothing will make that image ever upload.

My profiles seem to be uploading, but a lot of my portraits are not. Weird!

When i look at the diagnostics windows i get the following info....

under "Characters"

...number of files = 5 Error code 1005

but under "On-Line Storage Summary"

i get the info .....

Number of Files 9

Maximum Files Allowed 100

Space Used 1.41 MB

Maximum Space Allowed 350.00 MB



I can also say this is my first char and the update of it did only worked first time i played, now after a few days it still havent uppdated att all....



Can some one please help me and tell me what to do - so i can get my char info right.

Is this bug with Error 1005 to be solved any time? One of my characters has 19(!) files according to profile diagnostics. And I already deleted all screenshots, so there's enough space for charatcer files...

You haven't mentioned how many files (including screenshots) you have uploaded. It could be that you've reached a limit, which is preventing updates of your current characters. If that's the case, getting rid of some of the deadwood may help. Please see the thread linked in my sig for help getting rid of unwanted characters and files.

I've not reached my file limit. I purposefully do not upload screenshots, and any that do get uploaded are deleted. I also purged my profile of all files before attempting to upload the characters currently.

So, basically, "1003 - No portrait image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server" means: 

"If you want to use this character as your avatar, then Tough.  You need to keep rolling, creating, and uploading characters until you get lucky with one that looks like the one that had the 1003 error."

Am I understanding this right?

Thanks for the info. Hopefully bioware can fix some of these bugs.

What are those files? How can I manage them?

And, why is that limit so low?

First - it doesn't matter that there's lots of space, you are allowed 100 files only. Period. No more will upload if you have 100 files on the server. So you need to delete some things.

Second - to manage them go to your profile page and then go to 'manage screenshots'. You can choose which of the 14 screenshots you wish to delete - and then delete them. Then go to the 'manage characters' tab - and choose which characters to delete - and delete them.

Third - if you have 86 files (you didn't say how many characters you have) there could be several possibilities. If there are characters that you've deleted from your game but not from the site - delete them. If there are characters that you've deleted from the site, but they are still on your profile diagnistics page, with files still on the server - delete them permanently (using the method explained by Darth Midville, there is a link in his signature). If you have a character (or more than one) with 'extra unexpected files', then delete them from the site, play with the character and let them upload again, check how many files in the profile diagnostics tab, if still too many delete them from the site again - rinse and repeat until the number is correct. If you just have lots of characters then you're stuck.

This is a very common occurrence. Darth Midville has detailed a way to fix this, there is a link in his signature that will take you to that explanation. Just look a couple of posts up this page.
